Pretty cool asian fusion food, a little expensive though - need to order many small plates. Plus had to wait too long even though i had a booking, we werent seated until 20 minutes after our booking time.

Approximate cost: $40

Have been before and visited again recently.
Whilst it is hard to fault the place, I would probably be unlikely to visit again. Service is really really lovely. The staff are friendly and genuine. Easygoing and perceptive to diners needs without having to be asked all the time. The surrounds are pleasant. Muted lighting without being too dark and tables which are not too closely spaced. The let down if at all is the food. Simply that nothing stood out and some of the combinations are a little odd. Servings for the larger dishes can also be more than a little small.

I went to Seamstress with a group of friends earlier in the week. They had a good range of cocktails - but perhaps were missing a few classics. I settled on the bartenders choice of the week which featured absinthe, dark run and almond syrup. Drinks were as expected prices and the bar upstairs featured table service. Nice little place, tucked away.

All the food was well executed according to the menu. Surrounds were nice. Service was alright.
The thing that was missing, was creativity / point of different in a number of the menu items. I found it slightly boring.

Seamstress is an interesting building and the different areas are great. There is a great atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was amazing, as was the wine and beer menu. The staff were very attentive and professional. Great value for the food and rinks we purchased, especially considering the quality of the food and exceptional service.

Went here tonight with work colleagues and tried the "bar express" option as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine festival and was pretty impressed. Staff were friendly and efficient, the layout was good with plenty of seating, food was good and the cocktails were yummy! Impressed enough to want to go back.

Funky, multi level place in CBD that serves coffee from an open window in mornings. Delicious food that has fusion influence. Great drinks too.

The menu was not interesting and expensive for what you get. The dumplings we ordered was very under-cooked, the pastry was still raw. Very disappointing. The trout for main was flavourless. I had the duck breast for dinner and that was a nice combination of flavours. The oysters for entree was very nice after I asked for some lime. They were served with finger lime, but I did like them because they weren't juicy enough to be squeezed on the oysters. I like my oysters simple. Anyway, the cocktail bar upstairs and the 'sweatshop' bar downstairs looked really nice. Probably will head back there for a drink, but will pass on the restaurant unless the menu improves. The service was good.

The bar decorated with many Asian "cheong sum". A very unique layout and good for a chill out night with a group of friends. Cocktails are good. Ask for their home cocktails.
