Owner is so rude, staff is no better. I spend a lot of time selecting through their produce and I get an uneasy feeling as I am being watched by staff. Can never buy any FRESH fruit and vegetables. Strawberries and other berries either fermenting or moldy. Apples brown inside. Lettuce rotting in the centre. Citrus fruits, dry. ..and the list goes on. I am very particular how I store my food in the fridge but their fruits and vegetables always go bad in a short amount of time. Be very careful buying from this store.

Never met a business owner who is so rude and arrogant in my life! Very disappointing to see in today’s world!

Worst customer service. There's an older lady on Saturdays and she is very nice.

Spent around $60 on fruit & veg, but threw out a large punnet of strawberries due to mould, 2 rock melons that were rotten inside because they were old, ALL of my 5 avocados, and a pineapple which was half rotten.

They were ok some time ago, but you have to be too careful now

Worst service ever! Cashier "Delightful Denise" yelled at me to shop in Woolworths next time. Great advice Denise because they understand the meaning of customer service!

Fruit and vegtable quality is generally good however some of the staff need to learn customer service skills

ABC TV reported on 4Corners in May 2015 that Coles Woolworths and Aldi are all sourcing their fresh produce from farm companies linked to John Covino.

Problem is that the labour hire companies staffing Covina are allegedly using slave migrant labour... 22hr working days at $5 per hour!

Right here in Australia!

Ethical Question is: Does San Andres have any connection to this supply chain?

The fruit and veggies are cheap, and seasonal items or imports can be pricy (for example, I have noticed that the price of strawberries can fluctuate dramatically in the course of a week).

I'm not sure if the fruit is blemished because it's organic, but a lot of items look as nature intended, still completely edible, but not as a perfect as you'd find for double the price in the supermarket.

The service sometimes can be lacking, with cashiers allowing people to push in the line and serving them first, but you get what you pay for, I guess.

I recommend purchasing your fruit and veggies from San Andres instead of the supermarket, as you'll save yourself a lot of money. They also stock continental varieties and various health foods.

large variety of fruit and vegies, reasonably priced, always busy,
friendly staff, well laid out store, little crowded, but good overall
