I eat too much for my own good but I say "screw it" when I'm eating at this restaurant. Highly recommended

It's a venue that I used to frequent a lot, because the staff were so friendly. Unfortunately, that friendliness is used to disguise how slow the service is. Quite often I have to wait over 45 minutes for a shisha to be distributed. It's also unfortunate that the drinks are so expensive, because they're quite nice and the rooftop bar is a great social setting.

Decent food, beautiful restaurant, bar and roof top terrace.
Have had a platter on the second floor at the bar and it wasn't very nice. Meat was not cooked well and bland. Girls can be a bit rude sometimes but the guys are nice.

First floor restaurant is good with a wide selection of food on offer. Probably not completely Moroccan as it has cheese platter, saganaki, but they do have good tagines to go with cous cous or rice. I think the servings could be a lot larger as there's not much there.

Friendly service but staff weren't aware enough of their customers who were waving arms about to get their attention.
Calamari was delicious, as was the fish curry but was sadly lacking mussels and could have been hotter.

Honestly, $23 for a salad you'd want it to be good.. and I thought it was too salty and that was about it. It was plain, all i could taste was overcooked lamb and salt. My partner had some kind of seasfood curry and he said it was awful, i wasnt game to try it. My opinion , i'd give it a miss, theres better quality food at a better price

Great meal. Had the lamb tagine with apricots and dates and olives... Very flavoursome and presented beautifully. Good service ...loved the atmosphere and the company

I adore the food here. It's always fresh and perfectly cooked.
It's Middle Eastern cuisine with the inspiration being from areas around the Sahara Desert.

Be careful or you could miss the entry which is a doorway and a set of steps leading up to the first floor to the actual restaurant. It's opposite the Myer Homeware Store at QV. I don't think there's wheelchair access.

I've been here several times over the last year and have tried something different each time. All have been great. I've converted a few friends to this place.

The wait staff are friendly and helpful and know the menu well. The ambience is relaxed and this is due in part to the staff not being pushy or too rushed to answer questions.

Last visit I had the falafel balls (entree) and the apple and walnut salad and a glass of wine. I'm drooling now just thinking about that salad. I found this a filling meal and the wine was good.

I believe Sahara also has lunchtime deals for students (it's not too far from RMIT) and also a happy hour, though I've not been there at those times.

If you follow the old traveller advice that says you should always eat where the locals eat because locals know what's good, you will find yourself at Sahara one day.

Sahara features good food in generous portions, and even better drinks, but it's not cheap - about average for the city. The place has a nice warm atmosphere and (mostly) very friendly staff.
