I have been coming shopping here for a few years now, I used to buy bones for my dogs here & bakery items that were 80% off (they always smelled not quite right) but i am on a tight budget so i thought well why not I only bought the bakery products when they were on special because the prices did not match the low quality of the items. I also bought lamb shanks that were reduced and only after my dogs had eaten them i found there were maggots inside. Pretty disappointing Lucky the vet said they will be ok. Most things are quite overpriced & not as fresh as they should be but i guess it's better than Coles.

Has pretty much everything you need under one roof, and just across the carpark is Safeway Liquor too. The parking at the front of the store predictably gets v busy around certain times of day. The new self-service tills are a godsend so you can whizz in and out for a few items. Wouldn't mind a wider choice of veggie-friendly foods such as freshly made pies / quiches, and please stock Quorn (the meat substitute)!

Friendly staff, quick service. It is a very popular store in Mentone yet it does not feel crowded!

I usually shop here for the things I can't get from coles (they have a bigger variety and a larger store). Fresh produce is usually fresher that coles too

The queues aren't too long and the service is quick and pleasant. I will definitely continue to shop at this supermarket.

Approximate cost: $50.00

Safeway Mentone is always consistent with the quality of product and customer service. Even the current renovations haven't compromised the shopping experience. I shop there at least once a week, and I think it's one of the best Safeways I've been to.

we buy groceries from Coles supermarket. we haven't been to Safeway for some time. today we decided to shop in Safeway as it was on the way. we usually compare pricing and quality of the products to Cole's ones. the minced meet we bought from Safeway does look fresher and better and the price is higher accordingly. as fruit are concerned they did not look too fresh, but the price is still a bit higher than Coles one.
