RS is like half italian, half pub. Perhaps an italian pub. It is a relaxed atmosphere, with some highlights.
A large central bar dominates the interior, napkins sit atop the bare wooden tables, and there are views out to the RS courtyard.
There is a great range of drinks. The food is also great and fairly extensive in options offered. Mains such as Duck ragu parpadelle, and Pan roasted barramundi with new season artichoke, mint and broad beans, impressed me.

I really like the Royal Saxon. I was there last night - Tuesday. I thought it would be pretty quiet but it was pretty busy and a great atmosphere.

I like the way it is broken into bar and restaurant. It makes the formal eating area seem more private. You can also order foods in other parts of the bar too.

There is a great mix of upstairs, outside and downstairs.

The food is great - I love the pizzas.

A really lovely dining experience was had here recently by myself and two dear friends! Service wise, it is one of the best dining encounters I have had in a long time, and probably ranks in my top ten of all time! The waiter who looked after us, for that is what he did, was attentive when needed, pleasant and went above and beyond to make our meal and time at the Royal Saxon an event to remember.

The food was all superb. Being a vegetarian there was not a heap of choice for me, but this is more often than not the case these days! That being said, I was more than happy with my vegie selection.

We enjoyed, starters, mains, desserts. All were superb! Beers, wines and stickys were all matched well with our dishes.

The venue is quite large, however, with several different areas a sense of privacy is maintained. I look forward to returning soon and enjoying the inviting courtyard on a sunny day!

Food was good - took a bit long to arrive though. Atmosphere great, but maybe a bit too packed. Music awesome, staff very friendly - overall pretty good place to go for dinner or after work drinks!

I really enjoyed this pub and its food. For an entree, main and two drinks each, we paid $85 for two. The food is really lovely, although the menu has a lot of 'bourgeois' terminology for proper foodies, which is a little offputting! There are also not many vegetarian options... Overall, however, a lovely experience!
