Desperate to get hubby to have a break at Easter, I searched the web & found a link to this on the Port Albert accomodation website. After reading Sue's blurb (on rodondo.com.au), I just had a "gut feeling" that there was something special about this place & I was so right. Sue's passion for what she does just resonated in the blurb, which was more than matched by her greeting & service on arrival & our subsequent stay. Originally we were going to have 2 nights here & 2 nights elsewhere, but I'm so glad that we stayed here for the whole Easter weekend. It was glorious!

We've stayed in a lot of B&B's & 'luxury' accommodation over the years, & can honestly say that this was by far the nicest place yet, (in Vic, anyway). Not only is it spotlessly clean & comfy, & extremely reasonably priced, it's in the cutest quaintest place in Victoria, run by an adorable lady who is a perfect hostess.

The communal breakfasts are legendary, & Sue must get up at the crack of dawn to ensure everything is set up. There's REAL freshly squeezed juice, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, muesli, 3 or 4 kinds of bread for toast, real butter (not marg), muffins, freshly baked pastries, fresh stovetop-percolated coffee, flavoured teas...so many scrummy things to choose from, that I lost track.

Then there's the quirky little knick-knacks dotted around the house; & having a Mum who was a dressmaker, I fell in love with all the sewing machines. I also fell in love with the dogs, Doug & Daisy, which is funny because I'm not normally a dog person :)

The only little thing to remember is take a hair-drier if you use it daily, otherwise everything else is pretty much provided.

Honestly, if you're looking for a lovely getaway at an incredible price, you've got to stay here. Sue really makes this place what it is...an absolute delight! My hubby, who is normally very hard to impress, is really keen to stay here again.

Approximate cost: $100-150 per night & 15 p/p for brekky.
