I had heard of the red door bakery at croydon for some time. Went to the Hyde Park one today and, except for perhaps just a little too many lycra-clad customers, it was great. It was very busy but the coffee was prepared reasonably quickly. I wasn't going to buy anything naughty but was tempted by the salted caramel chocolate brick - it was delicious. I will go back!

Went to this new bakery today and was so impressed with the food! I ordered the Moroccan lamb and eggplant sausage roll and it tasted just as it sounds. DELIGHTFUL! I had the almond croissant as well and that did not disappoint either. My husband had a chicken pie which was sooo nice, real chicken pieces and beautiful flavour. The price is more than most bakeries but the portion sizes make up for it. If you go early I hear the crème brulee tarts are devine as well as the angus beef pies. I didn't end up having a coffee but I also hear they are good also. I'll be eating here again in no time...loved it!!!

Approximate cost: $5 per baked good

Thanks for the review. I have heard lots of good about the one in the western suburbs and heard that this one was opening but then forgot about it. Might have to pop into tomorrow for a pie!

This is probably our favourite bakery. Their sweet and savoury items are all delicious but our favourites are the sausage rolls which they serve with chilli jam (also available in a take home jar - yum yum). It is always busy at the bakery but the staff take the time to greet you warmly and make you feel valued and welcome. They have an interesting range of drinks in their fridge too.

This bakery has lovely offerings. Fresh, often quite different, always with good service and great coffee.
