If you like heat, this is the place. That said, there is a small variety of non-spicy food on the menu. Service is mediocre. Went with a group of 15 and during lunch time, hence service was lacking. Good quality food but are a tad on the higher end of the scale price-wise.

Approximate cost: $20

I love real Sichuan food and this is one of the few places to get quality Sichuan food. Yes it is very spicy, but there are non-spicy options.

Oh, by the way, many of the dishes that are full of chili, just eat around the chili, don't eat them.

Went there for lunch with a few friends. Nice restaurant with lots of space. Convenient location as the Chatswood Chase car park is opposite to it. My friends and I ordered a few dishes to share but I found all the dishes were too hot and spicy for me. I had to order a bowl of hot water to quickly rinse it abit. My friends liked the dishes though as they like the hotness and spiciness. The items on the menu are quite expensive for Asian cuisine. Customer service is average.

I really like the food there, especially the spicy fish (cooked in oil and chili). The food is quite spicy and aromatic, with a lot of oriental herbs and spices. The service is not great, it's quite hard to get anyone's attention and it is quite expensive. If you like spicy food then it's worth a try.

Approximate cost: $40

Good food for all those who love some Sichuan asian cuisine! For your information, Sichuan food is always known for its hot use of chilli! Great food but it sort of expensive, great for once a year visits.

Whoa hot. I mean I was aware of the Sichuan province food were CHILLI. Like someone else has pointed out this may be too much for someone who is not used to the 'authentic' Asian taste.

I'd love to give them more stars but some of their pot menu were a little on the expensive side, and there are some room for improvements in service.

I think I can have this EVERY NOW AND THEN but not on a regular basis.

There use to be a "Red Chili Sichuan" in Ultimo and there was a very good reason why it closed down. Let's just say the Chinese is too authentic and not remotely westernised or Australian. Another way to describe it is - too much chili and not enough flavour. Dumping ten tonnes of chili doesn't make a dish!Actually it just makes it crap.

On top of all this - is the price. The four of us were so close to walking out as soon as we sat down, but decided to stay. Most mains were around $28 and crap, and the entrees were so small and tasteless. With so much competition in Chatswood, do yourself and friends a favour and go elsewhere.

Approximate cost: $28

Sichuan flavour IS 'chilli'.
I do agree that it's probably too authentic, considering that lots of Chinese live in Sydney, that's not a bad idea at all.

However, yes they're too chilli, and too expensive to my liking also.

Hi Parge, while we agree that using large quantities of chillli does not impart adequate flavour, we have to agree with Toostronk’s comment, as this is what Sichuan cuisine is renowned for. While the local Chinese populous may very well appreciate the dishes on offer, I find it hard to believe that they (particularly students and those on a low-income) would regularly support such an establishment given the related expense. Irrespective of this, the business owners in question have found a niche market which is clearly working to their advantage. Regards, Reeces

Great restaurant, it looks much better on the inside than outside. I was impressed with the cutlery and way the tables were set up, it is a step up from average Asian restaurants. The food on the menu had a 'chilli rating' which would rate how spicy the food was, with 3 chillis being the most hottest. We tried the chef special which was a fish dish containing a whole kilogram of chilli, the purpose of it to be so spicy that it would numb your tongue. Unfortunately it did not do that! However, the rest of the food was certainly very delicious and I would come here again.

The food is delicious- but everything on the menu is spicy. The service is alright, but the food is a little overpriced.

Approximate cost: $12
