What a surprise this pub was! We were staying in Geelong & have a friend who moved to Bannockburn. We didn't know what to expect...all I can say is YUM!
The meals we had were delicious! I had a vegetable stack on Turkish bread....yum yum yum...hubby & friend had the parmi of the day (mushrooms) and they left nothing on the plate!
The kids meals were good value too. Was about $10 for meal drink & dessert. 1 has the spag bol & other has chicken parma. They were happy with meals too.
They have a great little playroom with toys etc...so kids were in there most of night.
We are looking forward to visiting again!

This is our "regular", and it's a great pub. We much prefer what the new owners have done with the place - opening for meals on Mondays, taken down all the ridiculous Grid Iron posters from the walls, etc.

Bar meals are reasonably priced (~$16 for a parmi) and are HUGE. I had the lasagne recently, and it was the size of a house brick! And nothing beats the Banno Pub's salad dressing. Absolutely delish. Parmi nights are Tues and Wed, Steak night Thurs.

Meals come out very quickly on weeknights, a bit slower on Friday and Saturday nights (to be expected). The bistro is sometimes a bit noisy, and usually jam packed.

food was nice and service was OK. We decided to go to the main bar as it was a Friday night and we had the night to ourselves as our children were at Grandparents so we thought lets go listen to some music and have a few drinks. Imagine our surprise when we went there and no music because after checking with staff because I could not believe it, you have to put money in a jukebox to play music in a pub(is this just wrong to me?) and the young people watching and betting on the races and playing pool. WE LEFT AND WENT HOME AND HAD SOME DRINKS!! A pub with no music -Very disappointed

The food at this pub is always top rate! I have eaten there on more than 5 occasions and have never been disappointed yet, from the lunch menu to the dinner menu as well as the specials board, every meal is superb.. even the garlic bread is worth going back for!

Approximate cost: $20
