Poppets used to give a great service. I have a big labrador who needed to have his winter fur removed (phase one). We had used Poppets in the past and they were good.
My lab came back with winter fur still falling off him in clumps. Seriously - as he was walking the clumps fell off him - the same as when we dropped him off. After a few days I would understand, but not on the same afternoon.
I specially asked that his nails be clipped and when my husband collected our lab, they had not done this as they said they could not control the very friendly, but big, dog. We had to ask, they did not offer this information. My husband had to hold our dog so they could clip the nails. Surely, if this is your business you should be able to handle a big friendly dog.
I left a message on their site with my contact details and called three times and received no answer.
They used to be good, but now I will find somewhere that provides the service they advertise. I am really disappointed as I prefer to support local businesses.

Poppets is a family-run pet store in the Beaumaris concourse. I have found the owners to be friendly and helpful every time I've been there. They have a pet grooming service which I have recently used for my dog. In the past, my dog has had to be sedated because he is really scared of the clippers and hairdryer and won't keep still. They took me and my dog through to see their grooming area a week before clipping so that he could meet their groomer and have a positive experience that he would associate with the venue. Their groomer, Nicole, is a dog-trainer and managed to groom my dog successfully without sedation. I felt confident in their ability to groom my dog without the need for sedation. I was very happy with the results and will definitely take my dog there in the future.
