Point cook homestead is a lovely place to go for some time out with friend and family, but take a picnic with you! The restaurant there is disappointing in quality/portions and overpriced. Shame cause its got a great feel but not everyone wants restaurant food when they attend these places. How about some good ol' fashioned pies, foccacias, Devonshire teas and ice creams?! That might suit the environment more and the wallet! Not very family friendly. So much room for improvement. Plus it's obvious it's just a money making venture as after our meal, we went to fly our kites only to be kicked out by staff because of an impending wedding!! Why not tell us that before we eat at your restaurant? After all, our main reason for attending was that we wanted to enjoy the homestead grounds but were a bit peckish so we decided to eat first. Rather disappointed to say the least. Such a shame because I used to love this place when I was a kid. Money talks I guess.

Approximate cost: $25 per meal

For something that's a little out of the way down that long road, the food, the staff and the atmosphere is truly worth it. Would definitely recommend, beautiful inside and out.

Approximate cost: $25
