The food is good but expensive and don't expect it to be a traditional lao experience by any means. I know the restaurant claims to be modern Laotian and I assume this to be traditional ingredients cooked in modern way. Maybe my interpretation is wrong but, I am pretty sure most Lao people have never seen a sheep let alone eaten one, so the amount of lamb on the menu is somewhat strange as is the prawns when Laos is a landlocked country. On the other hand, there is no pork which is one type of meat Lao people would eat a lot of.

I'm sure modern could also be taken to mean non-traditional ingredients in cooked in a traditional way. I agree few people is Laos would have tasted lamb (let alone salmon) but you do realise prawns also come from rivers? And that one of the longest rivers in the world runs through Laos? Mekong River prawns are fantastic!
