Great spot, there is plenty to do before or after your meal or snack. From a walk along the foreshore, fishing, a swim at the swimming pool, playing at the park (with skate park next door.
Plenty of parking, lovely friendly staff and awesome food.
I had a beautiful lunch in september. Loveley coffee, wine, food. We enjoyed sitting outside and the staff very friendly , and accommodating great with my 2 year old. Highly recommend.
Great spot down buy the sea food little bit pricy but overall good maybe a dip in pool after next door outdoor dining great as nice meal great food opening hours should be longer located on beach next to swim centre great views
This cafe closed down months ago.
once a training facility for the hospitality industry. its joined onto the gym which makes it good to get energy juices or a hot chocolate/coffee before or after swimming lessons. The food is pretty reasonable and a little bit over priced. The service is ok but it could be worked upon.
A very basic menu with great prices. The coffee is good and they do take away coffee which is great and the location is fantastic, right near the pool, pier and park.
This is my favourite "lunch with friends" spot. The food is way better than you'd expect in a cafe such as this and the setting is fantastic - if the weather is good you can sit outside and see the water.
Approximate cost: $14
There is one really good reason to love and support this wonderful Cafe initiative - and that is because it is a service to the community, both in providing good quality coffee and meals to its patrons, but more importantly because this Cafe is a training Cafe. Pelican Pantry, located immediately on the Hastings foreshore, offers inexpensive refreshments (the usual cafe fare) in one of Hastings more picturesque locations. Immediately adjacent to Westernport Bay on the Hastings foreshore walking track, and providing views from either the internal dining room or external deck, this is the place to be. I proudly support this Cafe because it offers students from all over the Peninsula and beyond, the opportunity to train in a fully functioning Cafe, whilst working through their TAFE hospitality training certificates. This does mean that the standard of service can occasionally be reflected in the stage of current training of your server, (i.e. - they are real 'learners') but in general I have actually found the opposite occurs and these young students work above the standard often represented in other Cafe Restaurants, because their training is new, fresh and up to date, as is their enthusiasm. I love that you are greeted at the door; a very nice touch. If you want to do something wonderful for your community when eating out, Pelican Pantry is a great way to support Victorian Education, local students, and, in the end, your wallet too. We love their Devonshire tea, pancakes, iced and hot chocolates.
