Incredibly beautiful, stylish homewares that look fantastic and also serve a great purpose. You know when you are purchasing from this store, you are supporting the people who make the product, not just someone who is exploiting their cheap labour.

However, I'm not the kind of person who will buy a 'charity' item if it is worse than the non-charity equivalent. Luckily, these items are so fantastic, I have no problem buying them for presents, or just for our house.

Always happy to support those less fortunate and shopping at Oxfam seems to be a more direct way your money can get through to those that need it. If you know one of those people who appear to have everything buy something from Oxfam and they will have no complaints when they open their gifts. If you are on a budget and want to buy a meaningful gift for someone I recommend looking here. There are more ideas than I can mention but there is something for everyone's taste here.

Approximate cost: $30

I went to Oxfam to purchase gifts in the lead up to Christmas. There is an amazing range of products from around the world, each benefiting a community in need. Everything is excellent quality. The staff were under the pump but took it all in their stride and worked together to get through the line as quickly as possible, whilst maintaining a cheerful and helpful approach. Very impressive - I will shop there more often for gifts, as you really are giving twice!

This store is amazing.

Their homewares are always spot on gorgeous, and the proceeds go to supporting people in genuine need to develop sustainable businesses.

The only downside is that sometimes the cost prices me out of a purchase. I completely understand that, and I'm giving it 4 stars, because it's the cost of assisting someone else to gain dignity and autonomy.

I've bought presents here for friends and looked at the beautiful jewellery enviously. So worth a visit.

Beautiful shop where you could just browse for hours! Every product seems to tell a story, the staff are helpful and very informative with the origins of the products, this is a great store to find a gift for that 'hard to buy for' person. There is beautiful furniture here also which I was surprised to find. I really just adore this shop and visit every time I go into the city, it's just lovely to walk through and see what is new.

Everything you want or need. Perfect presents for anyone you possibly know. Or the perfect gift for yourself. Something for everyone including the 'buy a chicken' option. I love this place.

I went there for a school excursion. I thought it was a fairly educational place with out trying to be educational. There was a massive range of different items from pencils to statues. It's a great place for a different gift.

This shop is fantastic if you are looking for gifts that are a little different while supporting Fair Trade. As Oxfam is a charity organisation you can be guaranteed that the products you buy go towards helping a good cause - check out their website for more information. The products on sale in the shop vary significantly, yet all hold quite a cultural feel. This is evident from amazing colourful toys made in Sri Lanka through to brilliant cookware carved out in Africa - all supporting sustainable living for the producers. If you are looking for a gift that can really make a difference, shop at Oxfam.

The Oxfam store offers a range of products produced by people in struggling countries. They have free trade coffee and other foods, a range of giftware including childrens toys, cooking goods, decorative artworks etc. They also have cards you can buy starting at $10, with a picture on the front of duck, chicken etc, and the money spent on the card goes to buying a duck or chicken for a family in need. I love the duck ones, they're so cute, so I get a card and someone on the other side of the world gets a duck to swim through their rice paddies, eating all the bugs and fertilising as it goes. Its a pretty good place to find unusual gifts too.
