super pricey given the fact that there's heaps of similar restaurants close by, decent food though was quite filling, the layout's quite nice as well - bar's quite funky looking

staff are really good, i like how the kitchen's see through as well

had the chicken and beef, both not bad but were quite pricey so probably wouldn't go back

My friend recommended lunch specials at this place, so we went for lunch on a saturday, only to find out that their lunch specials are only available on weekdays, so we just have to order from the menu, which looked quite pricy compared to most other asian places. We ordered several dish to share, food were authentic (according to my friend, cos I'm not sure what authentic korean is supposed to taste like). The restaurant is quite big, and cos many people order hot pots and sizzling dishes, the place can be a bit 'smelly'.

This place was recommended to me by some friends who know I like Korean food but it has to be properly done and authentic otherwise it really just tastes like something from your local Chinese takeaway.

I went to Oriental spoon with high hopes and when we got there it was a Saturday evening and it was crazy busy with the queue going out the door. They don't take bookings before 8pm so even at that late time for dinner we still had to wait and it was about 15 minutes before we sat down.

I ordered bim bim bap which is rice with beef and some veggies and egg in a stone bowl. Done properly this dish is heaven with crispy rice from the volcano hot bowl and smooth and delicious pieces of beef and veggies shredded so that it mixes with the egg and creates a nice gravy. Unfortunately with this place things seemed a little rushed and the stone bowl was not hot enough meaning that the rice did not form a crispy coating to enable the right texture to blend with the other ingredients. So it turned out to be more like a stew on rice or a form of curry on rice without the curry flavor. The kimchi pancakes were good if a little spicy and the agedashi tofu was also good.

Service was slow perhaps due to how busy the place was, however given it was a Saturday night I would have expected more staff to be on duty.

Because we had such a large table (12 people), our order was also mixed up a bit and some people got the wrong items and had to wait for it to be redone or they just couldn't bother and had whatever arrived! They feared that they would have to wait too long.

From a food and value perspective the prices are okay at around $13 for a main and the entrees are good at around $7 but they are not exceptional. As mentioned the cooking was perhaps a bit rushed however it is fair to good value for money.

Approximate cost: $13

One of my favorite Korean restaurants in Melbourne. Nice spacious restaurant, good food, nice atmosphere and prices are reasonable with huge portion.
Love the Seafood Casserole dish (jjambong) and its Tteokpokki.
One word- 대박! Love the food and service too.

Approximate cost: $20.00

We went there for dinner on a Saturday night without making a reservation. Were lucky to still get a table. Friendly service even on a busy night. What amazed us most was that all the four main dishes we ordered arrived quickly. Dishes ordered were pork bulgogi, tang so dumpling, claypot seafood and chicken bibimbap and all tasted great! Will definitely be back though there is more value price wise for lunch.

Love the atmosphere at Oriental Spoon, usually pretty busy so make sure to book! The food is delicious and they offer to grill on the table or cook in the kitchen, so you get to decide how you get your food. The staff are friendly and they don't rush you out after you've finished your food.

Approximate cost: $18

Authentic korean restaurant at value for money prices. My fave is the korean style deep fried chicken. The BBQ are well marinated and full of flavours.

Food was fantastic. The restaurant was very noisy which made it hard for us to converse with our friends. Other than that, it was a great experience

The Korean food tastes absolutely fantastic and you can order a variety of items such as hotpot and meat dishes, but the food items can be overpriced sometimes.
