The food is pretty good, but the service and price ruins it. I live walking distance from here but will drive elsewhere instead of walking here. The price really is outrageous.

Approximate cost: $25

My last visit to this restaurant was two years ago. I had ordered from here prior to that visit, but not returned since because they were more expensive than other places in the area and because their dishes were disappointingly cheaply made, being mostly rice, and containing almost no meat.
Anyway, this day was a public holiday and it was the only Thai place open, so my friend and I decided to eat there. We were handed a menu, and selected our two dishes at the counter. When the cashier rang this up, the total she gave us seemed to be more than the menu indicated. I assumed this was an error on my part and paid for the meal. After ordering, she asked if we would like to eat in or takeaway; we chose to eat in.
After being seated for about five minutes, the waitress came to the table, saying there is an ‘eat in' fee of $2, at this stage I was a bit annoyed but paid.
My friend decided at this at this stage that he would like a bag of prawn chips. He approached the counter and another waitress grabbed a bag from the window, and charged him the $2 indicated by the signage on the window.
A minute later the first waitress approached our table again. She insisted that we needed to pay an extra 50c for the prawn chips to cover the eat in fee and the public holiday surcharge (which we weren't previously notified of). At this point I went to the counter to complain to the first waitress.
I honestly don't know why I let it go on for so long. Not only did they charge an extra 10% for our meal without informing us, that they were then trying to leverage the fact we'd already paid to ask for a number of undisclosed surcharges.
I made them aware that it was not only sneaky and dishonest, but was a breach of the trade practices act. The waitress/ cashier involved turned out to be the owners daughter, he saw no problem in what she was doing, and made it clear that they wouldn't refund the money, which in total amounted to $4.50 on a $20 meal. Overall this was an unforgettable experience, for all the wrong reasons.

The same family still runs the restaurant, have renovated it and added a sushi bar, but it's still the same place.
