I have been back to this wine bar and restaurant numerous times as I love the decor and atmosphere, as well as the food.
The menu has a great selection of dishes to choose from, and the staff are friendly and helpful without being too over the top.

This is a great little restaurant in the Bellerive shopping/restaurant area. It overlooks the water so if you're lucky enough to get a table near the window you'll have a great view.
The decor is modern yet cosy and comfortable. As the restaurant is relatively new, everything is clean, and they have a number of new quality highchairs which is great if you're taking the family out.
The menu is varied and they also do takeaway. You can pop in for a drink or a meal. Great friendly service.

A funny thing happened on the way to the movies....

Well that's how the night started anyway. We were off to dinner and a movie with friends and decided to meet at the Casino for the dinner part - I know, Bellerive is a fair way away from the Casino but I'm getting there. After my friend, in his infinite wisdom (and much to the chagrin of his fiancee), decided we didn't need to book a table anywhere at one of Wrest Point's restaurants on a Saturday night before Mothers Day (yes, he made that decision by himself) and we were duly turned away from all fully booked venues, we headed off to the Eastern Shore to grab a feed somewhere closer to the cinema.

We found the Olive Restaurant & Wine Bar (well actually our friends had been there before and my mate's fiancee rang through and booked us a table on short notice).

Once seated and we'd ordered, after a short wait the food that was served was fantastic. I went the beer battered fish & chips which melted in your mouth, and my wife went a small gourmet chicken pizza which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our friends were also suitably impressed with the food.

The service was as you'd expect. It was unobtrusive. It didn't stand out, which is not a bad thing. Our waitress was efficient, friendly, but not in your face. Just there when we needed a drink or anything else.

After a delicious meal we then set off to the movies - unfortunately my friend's form-line continued and we discovered he had got the start time wrong by about 40 minutes as well. We missed the movie, went back to the Casino and had a win on the BlackJack table.

A fair detour for a meal when you consider we started and ended the night at Wrest Point, but well worth it. I can be certain I'll be going back again.

Approximate cost: $18-30
