We used a Groupon Voucher - Cost $35 for 2 people.
(This was shared entrée, main meal and a wine).

For the shared entrée, we chose Garlic Bread - It was partially burnt and tasted very dry. Not a good start.

For our mains, I had the crumbed prawns and chips, while Mum chose the Salt and Pepper Squid, with chips.

Mine was quite okay but nothing really out of the ordinary.

However, the squid was so salty, it couldn't be eaten. I love salt and usually use way too much but even I couldn't eat it!

Mum took it back to the bar and the waitress said "Well it is Salt and Pepper Squid". Mum felt quite insulted but explained she was well aware of that. However, too much salt makes it inedible.

To their credit, they offered her a new lunch and she chose the prawns which were fine.

The Salad Bar was a nice extra - they all looked fresh and tasted good.

All in all, the meal was okay and the service was fine but as we had to travel for over 30 minutes, nothing was exceptional enough, to make us drive the distance again.

Attracted to the Newmarket through the Entertainment book. Meals were well priced. Not large meals but value for money. There was a lack of a salad bar which was disappointing. Service was fine. It was a good old fashioned pub meal at a good price

listed as a historical pub the newmarket has a wonderful atrium which is unique and ideal for weddings, engagements, birthdays celebrations, social clubs and business organisations just to name a few. extensive a la carta menu caters for all taste buds

The meals here are nice, decent pub food without the pub atmosphere. Feels a little cold. Service is always friendly.

I ordered a chicken parmi, which is not my usual choice. I was impressed and ate this as well as the chips! Salads were fresh and nice but not a huge range of choice. Quite impressed with the new decor...we will return.

The Newmarket is a fantastic pub if you are looking for a cheap quality meal. They have specials each night, and the food is superb. The hotel has lovely atmosphere, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly
