I think this place is an urban legend. People continue to say how good it is due to their being a line up to get in. Thus people continue to say how good it is and with positive reinforcement, it garners its good reputation.
However, get the food and you might be disappointed. It certainly looks good, but taste wise it's not as good as everyone says it is.
I had a roast duck and roast pork noodle, while the significant other had a char kwey teo. Both very average. The duck was missing taste, the roast pork was a little chewy and the kewy teo was gluggy. Not all that pleasant, but it wasn't bad. Thus the average score.
I think it only keeps its mantle as it's the only one in this area that has the roast meats hanging in the window

I like the meats in the window as you walk past. So you know that what they put in your food isn't prepacked or microwaved. But strangely enough, they do come out pretty quick with the food. So that's one aspect I like about the service here. But for the fact they don't speak much English, it's sometimes a bit hard to get recommendations if you're not sure what to eat.
I had the duck noodle soup and my partner the bbq pork rice. Is as good as the usual in Chinatown. So it's about the same.

This is like a bit of Chinatown brought over to the heart of the city. They have hanging ducks and other roast meat in the window display.
Venture inside and there is seating both up and downstairs, but the main seating area is upstairs. Like most Asian restaurants like this, it's quick to get you in and quick to get you out. So don't expect table service to be too friendly and for them to ask you if you want anything else when you finish. In fact they'd probably ask you to leave if you're finished.

The food here is extremely unhealthy very oily lots of MSG sauce and oily food. The taste is good. Because of all the rich flavour but felt a bit sick after eating here because of all the fats and oils. The place is packed most of the time during lunch time because of its very convenient location in the city, very close to uni and also the food is very affordable so uni students like it. If u don't hav much standards for quality food then I guess this is an OK place

Approximate cost: $11
