A huge venue, but it still manages to get packed at nights - but it's easy to see why. A really funky venue and good range of drinks. Several levels including a rooftop outdoor smoking area with a great view. Cheap, tasty finger food available.
Approximate cost: $15
Great value pinxtos during lunchtime Monday to Friday and Sunday to Wed evenings where everything is $1. The plates are constantly being refreshed so you are getting freshly made food with a large variety on offer.
i absolutely love their $1 deal!
Very busy on weekends' nights, but I can totally see why. So it's better to go for one of their $9 lunch dishes. This place might be one of the best bars in Melbourne. The yummy cocktails are pretty cheap considering the prices in the area and you can easily enjoy a few drinks without worrying about the price. Only fault is that the service as it can be a bit slow when the place is crowded
Approximate cost: $9
i have heard about their cocktails... am keen to try out the salted caramel shots xx
I love the idea and the setting, wonderful ambiance. The food is yummy and fairly good value during their happy hours, I feel the food could be more creative and expansive. The chefs are clearly very skilled so should try new things for theirs and the customers enjoyment. Saying that I've enjoyed every pintos I've devoured.
Approximate cost: $10
agreed! i feel like you could do so much more with bread xx
At $1 a pinto they are quite overpriced. Over time, this price has gradually doubled. They are worth trying but at $1 each, you are probably better off going elsewhere.
Approximate cost: $1 per pinto
they are if you don't get full from the pintos, i do ave to admit they add up after a couple of tries
One of my favourite cheap lunch time ventures. You can fill a whole plate with little pintxos for a $1 a piece during the discount times. Good range of drinks (primarily a vodka bar) and a great atmosphere. Head to the elevator upstairs for sit down meals and a beautiful view of Fitzroy. Great for out of town friends.
i haven't tried the vodka bar yet - there's way too much to choose from it's almost a bit overwhelming!
Go during the week for delicious pintxos at a buck a pop. It gets messy and mad in the evening and on the weekend and I don't think the plates are as good as the snacks. Fab fit-out and view.
i haven't been in the evening apparently it gets crazy busy!
Naked for Satan.
Well the name says it all. At first when I heard the name I said to my friends you've gotta be kidding, this has to be some kind of strip joint, right?
To my surprise this ended up being one of the most pleasant places to spend a late Sunday afternoon.
The place is split over three levels with Pintxos (pronounced Pinchos) on the ground floor which are single serve bite sized snacks (Tapas style) and on the top floor a restaurant which has more substantial sized Tapas. The quality and range of food is good and unique. If you're after somewhere different then this is the place to go for an afternoon to chat with friends, enjoy a few drinks and much on some great finger, well, Tapas style foods. The range of food and menu constantly changes, although there are regulars such as eggplant chips, a steak, salad, pork crackling and more bits and pieces all designed to be shared. All are very flavorsome and for those who don't drink will find it a great way to excite the tastebuds.
The place does get full quickly so what we normally do is head up to the restaurant, have a few things to munch on and then leave room to head downstairs later and much on some of the Pintxos which include Wagyu style beef, Frittatas, Chorizo Sausages, Empanadas, Churros, Chocolate balls, and more. If you're there on a Sunday after 6pm, there is a great deal on the Pintxos - they're only $1 per serve compared to $2 at other times. A great way to experience a wide range of snacks/tapas!
As far as drinks go, there are a good range of beers and wines and the place is known for its range of infused vodkas which include Alpine Chocolate an Sugarcane, Opium and Rose, Ginger, Espresso, Salted caramel and more!
So despite the crazy name, it's a great place to spend an afternoon.
Highly recommended!
Approximate cost: $15
Thanks for your good explanation of this place.
Love this place :)
Seriously in love with their violet and watermelon infused vodka soda, so yummy! Only came here for drinks though from peeking at other tables the tapas dishes coming out looked and smelled amazing. Coming back here over the weekend to sample!
