We had a great lunch at My Cafe yesterday, after not visiting for years. (I see some negative reviews here which were posted years ago, and it appears that the cafe has had a change of management, or attitude, since then.)

My vegetarian salad was super-yummy, and my partner enjoyed his pasta dish. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the prices more than reasonable.

What looked like an ordinary cafe, had a menu that was anything but ordinary. The meals were really nice and the staff were quite friendly. I can recommend the spicy warm chicken salad and the Jumbuck (lamb fillets marinated in bush herbs & honey, chargrilled & served on salad with a
tomato & herb salsa). This place was so nice, we came back for a hearty breakfast the next morning. Well worth coming here after visiting the local bookstore - Paperchain bookstore - a few shops down.

usually a good meal. Last time when about to order I noticed 2 menus on table. Wine menu had corkage at $3. Food menu had corkage at $4. I told waitress and she said the $4 was correct. I explained this was against the law. She said I only work here Sundays. I said it is still against the law. Rather than get manager she smiled and we walked out. Sad but bad management, no training and they lost business.

The cakes here are really great and so are their huge selection of teas. you can even take your own tin in there and get them to fill it up with whatever tea you want to take home. the service is not consistent here, but always good for cake.

We just went for coffee and cake. It was a cold night and we sat near the heater. The cakes were great, I had the apple and rhubarb crumble served hot with ice-cream and so was the coffee and hot chocolate.

We have had breaky here and everything was fantastic, and we will be back for sure, the staff and excellent and so is the food. Its ok to sit outside but in winter a little cool

Really disappointing. the service was appalling - slow, rude, and unhelpful. The order was simple - two coffee's and a dessert to share" - the arrival of the drinks was staggered, to the point of the first being cold by the time the second had been received, at which point it was still only luke warm. We were later informed that our dessert was unavailable with no apology or suggestion of an alternative - therefore we went without. Our good intentions of catching up over coffee and cake felt somewhat spoilt by the inconvenience that we appeared to be causing the staff in our being there. sorry, but this is definitely not "my" cafe!!!

Three of us went there on new years day 2009 at about 8pm. We were advised of a 20-30 minute wait for food due to being busy. Fair enough.

We got our entrees at about the 30 minute mark. No probs.

It was not until the 1 hour and 45 minute mark that we got out mains, after several attempts to chase them up and people who got there after us receiving their food before us. Two of the three were terrible (tasteless risotto and medium rare steak cooked nearly well done).

This was our first visit there and given the number of great places to eat in Manuka, will be our last.

I've been to this cafe a few times, at different times of the day, and they are always busy. The food is really nice, though the menu is basic, and they do really nice milkshakes. Most of the seating is outside, so it's better in good weather, although they have big heaters surrounding the seats. The service is a little slow, but they do a roarding trade in great cafe food.
