We first saw this café when it first opened. Little did we realize that within the Kingston Foreshore Development are a group of people who crave home-cooked meals, fish'n'chips on Friday nights and ham and eggs for breakfast. Dr Zuess would fit in with the décor and loveable Mrs Sackville. The laminated tables and odd chairs are humorous and it takes just a little while to realize that Mrs Sackville is English and has humour. We love her cheery laugh and good cooking. Definitely a place to take the visiting relatives for a pot of tea.

We tried the English breakfast with muffins, eggs with organic sausages one Saturday morning. Maybe we were early but only one other couple were indoors. The furniture is eclectic and we weren't sure about the olde worlde decor but Mrs Sackville is very nice, south English, and slightly busy all the time because there appeared to be no other staff on hand. Her pots of tea are piping hot and her muesli is crunchy and hits the spot. We noticed she also makes takeaway dinners for the tradespeople so perhaps this is an up-market greasy spoon type from the East of London. Mrs Sackville is new in Kingston and 'at the moment' only accepts cash. We think she is worth supporting.
