Certainly not on my list of favourites, but this chinese restaurant does serve up some nice tasty generous meals.

On both dining occasions I found the staff were not attentive and not particularly friendly. Was ok, but nothing fabulous compared to others in the area. Tried twice probably wont be a third.

I love the duck at mongkok, the service isn't amazing and sometimes you wonder where is the waiter but the food definitely makes up for it, food is a decent price as well and everything I've ever ordered here has tasted great, one of my favourite restaurants on gouger

I went there with a group of friends and my family. It did take a long time to be served. We had to ask for the menus by ourselves and the waiter seemed like not very interested in serving customers. He is not very enthuisastic to provide service to customers. The food tasted ok. Overall, it was not a happy experience eating there.

Approximate cost: $22

Well. I went there last night to catch up with a couple of friends. I picked the place when we were walking down Gouger st. We walked in the restaurant there were no one sitting us down, we found a table and sat down ourselves then waited ages for someone to pay us some attention and bring some menus, well that didn't happen. My friend went to the counter himself and asked for a few menus, then we wait for ages again and nobody seemed to be interested in taking our orders. Anyways, I ordered the Fish Fillet in Hot Chilli Sauce which was $18. but when we got the bill, it says the dish was $28. (well that was an honest mistake, fine). but the service was unbelievably bad. The dish tasted average. Definitely won't go back there again.

Approximate cost: $18

We had a table booked at six thirty and showed up on time. We explained to the waiter (who could hardly speak english) that we had a booking. There was no table available. He noticed that there was a couple that only had their drinks on the table. He said they will be leaving soon and that we had to wait 5 minutes. He then brushed us off by pointing behind us and saying we could sit and wait. We looked behind us and saw some seats piled up in a corner. We walked out.

I have been to the Mongkok several times. I have always received efficient and polite service, and the food is excellent; far better than what we've had at other Chinese restaurants that charge a much higher price. The Mongkok's salt and pepper dishes are the best we've had anywhere.

The restaurant has just redecorated and 'updated' the interior (January, 2009).

This is the best Chinese restaurant we've found in Adelaide. Highly recommended!

Not as popular as the other similar CHinese restuarant down the road, Ding Hao. Yum Cha has more variety and the place can get quite packed at lunch times. The presentation of the restaurant is not professional and needs improvement.

You wonder why there's not many people in this place in the evening.. The food was disappointing.. the fish with bean curd dish was half cooked (the fish of course).. The service is pretty alright but you can expect more from the kitchen.

Approximate cost: $12.80
