Plantation Shutters what can I say. They were fantastic from beginning to end. No stress, no anxiety. Called them they made a booking for Saturday. The lady came explained it all took measurements. Got a price. Two days later the installer came and went over what I wanted he again took
measurements, said it would be about 3 weeks for installation. It wasn’t even 2 weeks and Doug called to ask if I would be home the next day to install. I was very surprised, Doug came the next day installed th shutters within an hour and what a fantastic job I am absolutely over the moon with my shutters, it has made such a difference to my bedroom. I have to have to have a dark room to sleep, it has cut out the noise and my room is also so much cooler. They look beautiful, it’s a pleasure walking into my bedroom now. Thank you Modern Plantation Shutters.

The worst and rudest company I have EVER dealt with.

$20k for 2 days work. Had a quote done and paid the deposit there and then. Explained we were in talks with the bank to increase our mortgage so wouldn't be proceeding for approx. 3 months which we were told was fine. Couple of weeks later phone calls started saying we needed to book in our job. We explained we would have the funds available end of April and was told that would be fine and they are just organising the schedule and would be in touch to book in dates around end of April. Week later they call and say we will be there in 30 mins to clean the roof....no notice, no warning, just showed up. We explained we have a disabled mother in law living with us so need ample warning and we don't have the funds yet! Chris who we spoke to numerous times on the phone was SO rude and said we won't be able to do any work until you pay. He quickly changed his tune and apologised when we expressed how unhappy we were and wouldn't recommend the company and explained they have a few bad reviews so would like to change our opinions and cleaned the roof without payment. (3 days later we received the funds and phoned first thing to make 1st payment)

The SUB CONTRACTORS were lovely and apologised that this was happening and ensured next time we would have notice to organise things around them. Unfortunately this didn't happen and THREE times they showed up with no warning or notice expecting to do the work, even when it was raining! This was VERY frustrating, Modern and the Sub-contractors were blaming each other, shock.

In total the completed the work was done in 2 days and then demanded the money even though they knew they were to leave 15 tiles spare but didn't have any. So we refused until our tiles had been dropped off. They came today and I was happy to make payment and asked how much is owed I then overheard Chris on loud speaker say to the contractor 'they have the contract, they can look at what they owe' WOW(I was stood outside in my pjs at 7:30am) 'make sure you get receipt of payment from THOSE people' I sent the receipt but that wasn't good enough, they wanted a screenshot showing the payment had been paid. How disrespectful! My partner is at work and his since received 3 missed calls from them as the sub contractor gave me the wrong outstanding amount. NOT our fault but proceeded to tell me partner we have the contract, we know what we owe.

I certainly won't recommend this company and will never use them again. The clearly are so desperate for money and are just COWBOYS. Don't waste your money and go to a company that looks after you and cares. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Had Pushy aggressive salesman come to do Roller Shutter quote and that I had to make decision today otherwise No discount as advertised on their website available till April .
Whole conversation was pushy and a bit agro from him .
Asked him to leave - all this after 10 minutes !!!!!!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with the receptionist, I believe her name to be Shyloe. She was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. This young employee deserves recognition for her efforts!

This buisness was very helpfull to use. They were reliable honest and polite. Our experience with this buisness was overall good and I'm very happy with the outcome of dealing with this buisness. If highly recommend them to anyone

Good quality, friendly service from customer service staff but the sales people are too pushy. You can find better value elsewhere as they are too expensive for what you get, but as expected for a large business group.

we had our roof restored, man turned up on time, though they were meant to leave us spare tiles, which they did not. after calling company they came back 2 weeks later and left 6 tiles on our lawn (4 were broken), after 7 more weeks and many calls they left more spare tiles. Also 1 tile on roof was cracked and they have never came back to fix it, we had to fix it in the end. we were meant to display a sign for a period for them, after several calls I informed them that if they didnt not do their part I was not doing mine. sign is no longer there. would not use again.

Approximate cost: $4500.00

The decision to use Modern Group was through the Home Show where they had a special so we left them their details and arranged a time and date for us to see the sales person.

On the set date and time we had the sales person came in where we were somewhat impressed at the way he conducted his business. We often look for honesty and integrity and he showed us. He inspected the roof and stated that we certainly need a full restoration and it was going to cost quite a bit however we managed to bring it down to something better despite him showing us the procedures Modern Roofing use as their justification of their price.

Finally the day came when Modern Roofing's contract tiler looked at the roof. He was amazed that the roof was in great condition and said that it only few tiles needed resealing however they are going to realign and mortar the tiles.

WE spoke at length to the tiler as we learned that this person had integrity. We said to him that the sales person almost gave us a grave condition of our roof and it desperately need restoration at an expensive figure, now he tells us that the roof was already in great condition even after the March 2010 hail storm?

We realised that the sales person was extremely slick and the telephone calls back to Modern Roofing to get something back in return before the job was done. To cut a long story short, the tiler advised the management that the job did not require as much work as the sales person stated and we settled on a very good figure.

I retrospect, I have the business card of this tiler and I will totally recommend him to anyone for value for money in roof restoration.

We needed to get our cement tile roof repaired (ridges need to be repointed, some tiles replaced as they had cracked or parts were missing, and a general paint to 'freshen' the look). While, we were happy with the overall outcome (so far, no leaks) and the contractor who did the work was pleasant, turned up on time and cleaned up (pressure cleaning is very messy, with mud from the roof going everywhere - he hosed off the neighbour's bin), we didnt have a very nice experience with the whole sales pitch and personnel from the head office. We didnt expect such pushy sales pitches (including a video demo from his laptop, over 2 hour talk and that there was a one day only discount). We had to deal with the head office as well for admin things and the manager there was very rude. The good thing though, is that we asked for a bigger discount and got it. So don't be afraid to bargain them, and don't feel pressured to sign on the day. We ended up hiring the Modern Group, as we didn't want a fly by roof restorer and it is very hard to ascertain the quality of the paint used. We figured that a big company would have a good reputation and hence cost quite a bit more, something that we traded in for a piece of mind.
