This is a great place to take the kids for a swim, they have a lazy river in the big pool which my kids absoultly love. The staff there are so friendly and always there to lent a hand if needed. They also have a café that has really nice slices and cakes and great coffee.

We have eaten at the smorgasboard type restaurant for a birthday meal and also another time at the cafe which serves delicious cake, coffee and light meals called The Coffee Club. Both places were worthwhile to visit for different types of occasions and different types of meals. The service was great at The Coffee Club (which is within Mingara). The food was fresh and delicious. Prices were reasonable. It was relaxing and enjoyable. The time we were treating ourselves in the cafe was when our daughter was actually singing at Mingara in the showroom area. While she was getting ready to sing we went and enjoyed some cakes and special drinks. The service was polite and pretty quick - so it should be I suppose just for cakes etc.

When we ate in the smorgasboard restaurant - it was for my Dad's birthday with extended family. This was a perfect venue as everyone could just eat whatever they wanted - getting whenever they wanted to eat some more! We left feeling very full (a bit like the old 'Sizzler's' restaurants where you pay a price and eat whatever you wish). A huge array of different types of meals stared us in the face. Then desserts!!! They were great and it was very enjoyable but I think I'd get fat if I did this too often!! This is really nice for a special family birthday.

We've also been to the pool area for countless times and they have special blow-up bouncy things that the kids can play on - but there is an extra fee for this so be prepared to pay more for just the entry fee when your kids say they want to have a turn! The Olympic sized pool is all internal so there's no need to apply sunscreen. There is a special pool separate to the Olympic pool which is like a torrent of rapids in the river (well, not quite that fast!) but it keeps the kids (and adults) moving around for a bit of fun.

Not the cheapest of Olympic pools to visit on the coast but I suppose you save on sunscreen because it's all internal and undercover!

Apparently the olympic pool is also heated but it is freezing ing there and the kids freeze getting out of there.
The swimming lessons are kind of useful but when your child goes up and down levels during one term and has plenty of teacher changes it makes the lessons not worth it as they dont learn well in that environment, if teachers stayed consistent the kids might get a better result.
Pretty good for a little swim in the recreational pool but even most of that can get closed for classes and they do not tell you when these areas will shut if you but a ticket and start swimming you can be asked to move on within 5 min if a class will start. Might be better asking when entering whether the pools will be all open whilst your there

Approximate cost: $10

Went to a Christams in July at Mingara on the weekend and was most impressed with the place. Apart from the function we went to that had amazing food and great service, there is a swimming pool and who knows what else, it was just so big there's got to be more!

Mingara has a good range of food options and also have child minding services. There is mini golf, the Olympic sized pool and they often have other shows on run by their groups like the Mingara Orchid society. Food has always been pleasant and the atmosphere is nice. There is plenty of parking.

A great pool for the kids and a nice healthy cafe for lunch. My only complaint is that they don't allow diving in the Olympic Pool. I was trying to teach my kids how to dive properly one day and the lifeguard told us to stop. Are you kidding???

I love coming to Mingara, there's heaps of cafes/retaurants to choose from and you can book the kids into the playhouse for a while-which they love! A great chill-out place.

Easy to locate. Lots of car parking. Many features to the complex. HIghly recommended to join and experience the club life. Great membership deals for new and old.
