What has happened to this place... it used to be great?
After some years of not having been here, our family attended the Mexican Hacienda on a Sunday night. We were served a pitiful meal, equivalent to bad, fast food cafeteria quality and presentation. Servings were small, the food looked dumped on the plate from a can/pack, and no taste. It felt like the chef had no experience in either Mexican food or food serving generally. It was a dismal experience, and it really hurt to pay the $70 bill. The decor is well past its use by date - faded flag on wall, worn out carpet. We pass the place and wonder why people go there. Perhaps we lucked out and got an off night for the place?

I went here for a Mexican feed, and was very happy with the banquet we ordered! Everything was nice and fresh, and the food was definitely a nice focus. The staff were really friendly and looked after us well, perhaps we followed the right footy team! :)

I've been coming here for years and the menu hasn't changed one bit. Nothing special here (outdated decor , no ambiance whatsoever) BUT its good value, and the food is always tasty and fresh. It's always as expected and I've never been disappointed. This is the spot my friends and I come to for a quick and satisfying meal and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this spot to anyone after a good meal. Mind you the desserts aren't too flash but the starters and mains are yummy.

A nice local Mexican place in a town that is sadly lacking in south of border delights - why should the Gold Coast have all the fun??!!
The set menus are by far the best value. Can be a little slow here and I've found the food to be inconsistent, but generally good. They have a good kids menu too, so take your little amigo out for a fiesta!

We went to the Mexican Hacienda on a Friday night, and it was very enjojable. The food is very nice, and they have a decent range of vegetarian options too which was good. We found the service friendly, but a little erratic. They were very busy though so we didn't mind. We also found that our meals were very slow to arrive, but again, they were extremely busy, and when the food did arrive, it was very good. Also there wasn't an amazing atmosphere. There didn't appear to be any music playing, and the restaurant interior could do with a bit of a makeover. Overall a nice evening, and would reccommend.

Approximate cost: $15-$20
