Fantastic local fare prepared, presented and served by a brilliant team with Stephen and Ute at the helm. We have friends and family that have travelled from Brisbane and Sydney just to eat at Mercer's. It is a truly wonderful restaurant.

I love going to MERCER'S for dinner to celebrate any occasion. Service is great, ambience is wonderful and the food is yummy! From the appetiser (complementary) to the dessert it's a lovely experience. I especially always look forward to Le Grande Dessert for two (a mini version of the desserts available). Will keep going back there!

This is fine dining in the suburbs/metropolitan fringe.
For people that live in the city or inner city, the drive to Eltham and its green surrounds is like taking a daytrip to the country with a shorter drive and less petrol refills.
I was delighted by the whole experience, and Mercer's did not disappoint.
$75/head for the 3 course dinner. The dishes were interesting, delicious and served by friendly staff in really nice and pleasant surrounds.

We have been to Mercers a few times and have not been disappointed yet. The service is fantastic - attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable about their menu and wine list.
The food is lovely - fresh, tasty and not unnecessarily complicated.
It is at the higher end for cost for the overall meal but a great spot for a special occasion. Will continue to go here.

My partner and I have been going to Mercer's for over 4 years now and each time we are more please with the last. The food is amazing and is such a joy to look at- art on a plate. The degustation is such a good choice as the menu changes seasonally so you get a good taste of everything. The staff have such an attention to detail and you always leave feeling completely satisfied. We go for most anniversaries and will continue to, Thanks Mercer's

Wow - for a master chef kind of meal, brilliant service and excellent presentation, Mercer's is a must for special occasions. From the minute you arrive, you are pampered and treated like royalty! Mercer's is a must - the food cannot be faulted and those desserts............. mmmmm

One of the better dinning experiences I have had. Food was flawless, service was very good and the degustation menu is a must, especially the desserts. Very impressed.

Ever got to the end of a fabulous meal, & wished you could fit in every dessert on the menu...well at Mercer's you can do just that! Imagine, miniature versions of every dessert on one plate...ingenious I tell you, ingenious. And it takes the stress out of having to decide on just one. Le Grande Dessert...that's what they call it, and it definitely lives up to it's name.
Everything about Mercer's is fabulous, it's fine dining without being stuck up & pretentious. The food is extraordinary, & the waiting staff are just wonderful. Hubby & I have been several times, but last year we took our 3 girls there for my birthday (or rather, they took me), & 2 of them are rather fussy, one of which is a vegetarian, & they LOVED it. It's the first time we've been out as a family where I didn't have to ask the chef to re-write his whole menu just for my fussy kids.

I took my wife to Mercers for a birthday dinner and had an excellent time. While the servings were not large, they were excellent tasting and beautifully presented. The combination of flavours was brilliant. The atmosphere was friendly - more like a country restaurant.

Approximate cost: $30

I went here for Valentines day last year for the degustation menu after reading about Mercer's reputation as a fine dining restaurant. I have been to many fine dining restaurants and this is not one of them! Maybe it's because of the location - I don't think it would last 2 seconds in the city or because the staff are so snooty everyone is scared to complain but in my opinion the food was woeful. After 8 courses you would expect not to be starving (although one course was a coffee?! and another consisted of about a one cm of cheese and 2 crackers). The atmosphere was also horrible - I haven't felt that uncomfortable in years - they had crammed as many tables in as possible so I was practically elbowing the guy next to me and there was no music at all.

Approximate cost: $30
