On June 2013, My husband and I had the previdge of having Melinda and Matt photograph our wedding day and all I can say is WOW !! Im so lost for words when it comes to decribing our experince with them both, even in the months leading up to our day. From the moment I saw Mels wedding photography I fell in love ! Her photos are so beautiful and so natural and truely captures the connection between the couple ... just speaking from experience ;) When we got out photos back I was gobsmacked ! They were incredible ! The quality of every single one of our shots were just flawless. I couldnt wait to show our families and they completely agreed with me. But what sets Mel apart from everyone else is herself as a photographer. Mel and Matt both are just lovely. They really take the time to get to know who theyre working with and build a solid relationship to make sure you are as comfortable as possible around them. In the months prior, Mel did everything that was in my best interest, any questions I had she was there to answer them and treated Nathan and I with such respect not only as clients but as friends. Melinda, I wont ever be able to thank you enough for all that have done for Nathan and I. We have the most beautiful memories of our wedding day and now because of you and Matt we get to be forever reminded with your amazing work that we get to share with our children and grandchildren for the rest of our lives. We had the pleasure of having Melinda as our wedding photographer and there is only one word to describe her personality and work...Amazing! Very friendly and approachable woman who has so much energy and the guests loved her. We got married on Sydney's hottest day on record but that didn't stop Melinda from shooting for 12 hours and we didn't hear a complaint from her all day. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Melinda and Matt Hird photograph our wedding this April 2013. I cannot begin to explain how wonderful the entire process was while dealing with Mel. Everything was smooth, easy and above all a great deal of fun. Mel was always available for any of our queries or questions. The photo booth Mel put one was a highlight and a major hit at our wedding. Mel and Matt were amazing throughout the day and they were everywhere without us even noticing, which meant we got photos of every magical moment. We now have the most spectacular photos that has captured the very essence of us and our wedding day. I can't wait till my trash the dress shoot!!! After being photographed for a few special events you really start to appreciate the importance of being coaxed and encouraged to interact fully with your surroundings and engaging with the moment - instead of what comes naturally which is to stand and pose with a forced smile.... A lot of people are able to take beautiful photos, but when you're helped to feel at ease and enjoy the moment the whole experience and resulting photography is at a different level. With two very different skills, finding someone that can both command the camera as well as be personable enough to make even you're uncle relax and play along, you know you're onto a good one. With adults it can be tricky, but with children and babies its a different ball game! I've just had the crazy experience of Mel taking photos of my 1yr old celebrating her birthday with a cake smashing scene! Having never tasted cake b4 and being expected to sit in one spot for more than 30secs, it was bound to be quite a feat for my little one. But Mel took it all in her stride. Knowing the tricks to getting babies to enjoy the moment, and being full of great ideas, Mel has captured some priceless memories that i will cherish forever. Surviving the first year of motherhood, this special treat photo session helped mark the first milestone in such a fun way. I'm very very happy. Thanks again, Mel.

We were married in March 2012. I had seen some of Melinda and Matts photos from friends at work and had heard good reviews. When I made enquiries, Melinda went out of her way to make us feel that our requests were valued and carefully listened to. We had a fantastic day. Melinda made sure that we were relaxed and knew how to get the best out of our photos for our special day. She took the time to view the church and reception venue in order to see how she could show us off on the day. Melinda was tirelessly patient in taking photos that got the best out of all of us, from the guests at the wedding to the 14 month old flower girl, who was extremely excited. Our day was such a personal one that seemed to fly by. I would just like to thank Melinda so much for her absolutely stunning photos of Owen. She came out to our place at a time that suited us and brought all her fantastic props, we just had to follow her direction and she was able to make us all look great even with our extreme lack of sleep! Melinda Hird is one of the world's great romantics. She's become our family's photographer, having taken wonderful photos of my nephew as a newborn, my engagement, wedding and recently our own newborn photos - with each experience better than the last. Her passion for romance and love oozes out of her pores. And her caring but encouraging manner helps you to relax in front of the camera. Laughing that she's just been bitten but refusing to lose time getting our family wedding shots, Mel's dedication is unmatched. Turns out she was standing in a bull ants nest! I was considering begging her to become my baby's nanny after seeing the way she melted into Mel's arms. She can only be described as a natural - born to capture every beautiful moment in her sight.
