Jenny McConnell was recommended to me by a leading physiotherapist at the Sports Science Research Institute in South Africa, whom I'd been seeing regularly for over five years after surgery to correct a slipped disc in my neck. Naturally, I was very apprehensive about going to a new physio in a new country. Imagine my delight when I found Jenny's practice was located on the Lower North Shore (I was also living in Mosman at the time). In fact, I was able to walk to my appointments. Jenny is very personable and professional, and I found her treatment excellent. She is known worldwide especially for her knee-taping (the procedure/technique is named after her). She worked on tennis player, Pat Cash, back in the day. He would fly from wherever he was in the world to see Jenny, so that she could treat and tape a chronic knee problem. If, like me, you're a tennis fan, you would have seen Li Na's knee taped with black tape during the recent Aus Open finals, which she won. The McConnell Approach addresses chronic musculoskeletal problems to upload soft tissue, usually with tape, to decrease pain and optimise treatment effects. I found this worked wonders for me (and she wasn't treating my knee, but my rhomboid & scapulae areas), and I would strongly recommend Jenny and her team to anyone requiring expert physiotherapy. Because Jenny is so well known and popular, I suggest calling well in advance to secure an appointment.
