Affordable isn't always the best option, I found with the cheaper end of the market that they were rushing/pushing me and after 3 lessons felt like I hadn't learnt much at all.

Anyhow a close friend of a friend recommend I call Master L Driving School ( website: masterlds.com.au phone: 02 9702 2996) in Sydney, the instructor was great, didn't feel rushed at all and gave me practical tips, his rates are reasonable but I don't mind. I'm a very new learner and figured I'll need some lessons under my belt, he told me if I booked 10 I get a lesson free which works out perfectly for me.

I had no driving experience and I was extremely nervous when I had my first lesson with Master L, but I soon realised that I was in very experienced hands and I got calmer and more confident with every lesson. I did all my required 50 hours with them and passed the provisional license test no worries. Ali the instructor is committed to his job and uses his own highly effective techniques. He is also very patient and is always willing to explain things until you understand, and always goes out of his way to ensure he is communicating effectively. He always gave me very honest evaluations of how my driving was progressing and set realistic targets for me, which was important for me because I was initially very skeptical of driving instructors taking advantage. His car is equipt with a second brake, it is always in good condition and is a great car to learn on. His rates are very compditive and package deals are available.
