We went for celebration so we knew that it was pricy place. I am very happy with what we got for the price. The food was just yummy and the portion was just right to fill us up. I love the Blue Swimmer Crab and Pickled Mussels was mouth-watering. I wish I had bigger tummy but couldn't finish all the food. Staffs were nice and friendly.

We expected the best but were disappointed. The food was not that tasty to be honest, and yes we have been to many hatted restaurants - this being our least favourite. There was nothing WOW about our experience. The place was quite dark and impoosible to find from the outside. Real disappointing experience!
A bit disappointing. For what we paid we expeteced better service and food. The tables were very close together, we felt like everyone could hear our conversation. Not very intimate.

So they only have degustation and at $160 I was expecting so much more. A massive massive disappointment. I felt Mark Best was trying to be cleaver more than delivering a divine dining experience. There's a very good reason that this place won't get a Michelin star, that's because the service is ordinary, the Sommelier was taking our advice more than making solid recommendations. decor put me to sleep and let me move on the the issues with the food.
The interesting dishes included the Salt & Vinegar Potato with Saltbush, Vadouvan & Chicken Hearts, or the Comté with Artichoke, Buttermilk & Nougatine but please do not confuse interesting with "Good" or "Grand". I just kept wanting more flavour, more uniqueness and if this is the best Sydney has to offer, no wonder we are behind the times in terms of culinary creations.
Both myself and my two friends walked away totally disappointed and for the money go elsewhere. If your looking for "an experience" or night out, send less and go elsewhere.
The small apéritif wine to cleanse the palate set us back $22, we probably should have checked that in advance.
Don't forget "5 per person will be added to every bill" for water!

Marque's $35pp lunch deal on fridays where you get 3 courses is amazing value. I have now been twice and there is always something which stands out - the duck I had for the main will always be the best I've ever eaten.
maybe its because i love french food but i find this place really nice to eat at and the value is pretty good compared to similar places ive been to
Really bad!! no atmosphere, view is of the street covered by a manky looking beige see through curtain, the degustation tastes bland and for the price is a joke. the waiter was a complete rude +++ and made me feel like a nuisance.

Hi Hollyb1, given the associated expense, one has a right to expect a better level of food and service. When one considers the reviews on WOMO (and other websites), this place seems to garner a variety of inconsistent reviews/responses. A friend of my wives took us into Marque. I had never had French food before and although I have to admit that I didn't try any frogs legs (I wanted to experience French cuisine but not every aspect of it) I really enjoyed it. I thought the servings could have been bigger but other than that it was nice.
