One of our local hotels and seems to be fairly busy most of the time. Came here last night for dinner and had a lovely meal. Hadn't booked and they were quite busy but they cleaned and set up a table for the 2 of us in less than 5 minutes.
My partner chose the Steak and Stout stew (Irish), served with garlic mash potato and soda bread. It smelt divine and my partner loved it. I had the Beef Schnitzel, which was tender and not over cooked, served with the crispiest hot chips and gravy on the side. Service was fairly quick and also friendly, with average pub prices ... not overly expensive. .
They do have a hot vegetable bar (4 different veg) and a salad area (about 5 different salads) and this is included in the price. You also get a fresh roll and butter with the meal.
They had live entertainment, which is a regular thing on Friday and Saturday nights I believe. It was a Graham Lawrence last night and he did have a lovely voice but it was just a tad loud for dinner time - in my opinion.
Would definitely go back. Had a great evening.

We came here for a lunch just before Christmas and found it to be extremely busy with group lunches. (Not unexpectedly). Found the salad bar a little limited and the staff slightly frazzled. Still a reasonable meal but not up to the usual standard.
Came here today for the senior's lunch which is 2 courses for $17. We had the garfish option and the chocolate mousse. Bread rolls served to table and a salad bar/vegetables of medium size. Enjoyed our lunch after a week of medical appointments.
Met friends here recently and I chose to have the fish and chips from the senior's menu for $14. A reasonable sized serve and there is also a salad bar etc. Very nice setting and friendly service. For another $3 dessert could have been had.
My husband and I have enjoyed a couple of nice lunches here, I like it in winter with the open fire place, but the warmer months are just as nice. We like the dining area, staff and of course the meals they have on offer. A pleasant atmosphere, delicious food and priced reasonably.
One of my favourite spots
Have been to the Marion Hotel many times and haven't been disappointed. It is owned by the same people (The Hurley Hotel Group) that run the Tonsley and the Royal, amongst others. I do like the hot food and salad bar and have enjoyed all the meals I have had there but find the prices at the Marion, to be a bit higher than the other locals in the area. My Mum celebrated her 70th birthday there a couple of years ago and was very happy with the table set up and the attention to detail. All the staff were friendly and the service good. They have a beautiful open fire place in winter and there's also a 'sail covered' area outside, for the warmer months. I do like the Marion but if I had to choose, I would go to the Tonsley as my 1st preference - The Marion comes in as a close second!

Thanks for your informative review, my husband and I have enjoyed a few meals here
Interesting decor. Kind of reminded me of a hotel in the city, but not quite there. Funky and eclectic and wanting more.
Drinks were poured and fun was had by all.
I have been meaning to try a meal here, just haven't got around to it yet, thanks for reminding me
Always enjoy dining here
Recently enjoyed another meal here with my husband. Opted for the lunch time senior menu and the fish and chips on offer. Well cooked and served in an appropriate time. Being a senior meal it was smaller than the main menu serves but that is expected. Nice welcoming dining area too.
Typical pub meal, but very nice schnitzels and fresh salad. I love the dining room decor and the service was very good. We've been there a few times and have never been disappointed.
Have been meaning to go here for a while now, thanks for reminding me
My wife wished to have her special birthday celebration with our family here at the Marion Hotel. We had a nice table with a candle on it and it was a friendly and relaxed meal time. Our granddaughter made a birthday cake and the staff offered to put it in the fridge and then brought it out after the main meals and they had even placed candles on it. Serving utensils and more plates were provided free of charge. We both enjoyed our evening and our family did too.
Sounds like a great place for get togethers. Glad your wife enjoyed her birthday.
