Really nice Vietnamese dining. Tried out the roast pork belly and had paper rolls as a side. Food was quite authentic and reasonably priced.
Nestled in Postal Lane next to the GPO, Mama's Buoi has great atmosphere - authentic in that street side dining vibe, yet swanky with nice decorative touches at the bar, furnishings etc. Menu items are designed to be shared, and there is a lot of fresh, flavoursome and wholesome choices. For example: Crispy whole school prawns with a lemon, lime & pepper dipping sauce, Citrus dressed coriander and tofu salad on betel leaf, Smokey eggplant with a chilli, garlic and basil sauce, Caramelised pork belly and boiled eggs slow braised in a sweet & creamy coconut juice, Green tea smoked duck on nuoc cham dressed salad. Dessert is usually boring and predictable at asian restaurants, but I really liked the dessert plate - there was a sticky pineapple caramel cassava cake with coconut lime sorbet, coconut and lime panna cotta and banh ran doughnuts. Delicious, multi-dimensional and stunning.
