I have attended Male Mane for decades now .The "no appointment" service is great, as are the prices ( Beat $17 ! )
The staff are efficient and friendly.....I have yet to have a "bad" haircut.
I always come away feeling better for the experience
Male Mane offers a no-nonsense , no frills service to the community which is not easily beaten.
May they continue to grow and prosper

Worst experience I've ever had at a hairdresser!! The lady has extremely rough. I have cuts on the back of my neck. She was talking to other staff about the voice TV show while cutting my hair. Seriously... It was very painful she nick me on the ears and the back of the neck! It was like she was rushing to get it over with. I've left a hairdressers in actual pain before! It's ridiculous!

I've been going to these Barberess'es for ove 10 years
What a great mob of girls, allways friendly
I never tell them their job (you never tell a bricklayer how to lay bricks)..Trust them, the're good at their job
Some times I might say " the wife said to give you an extra $ if you can make me look a bit like George Clooney"......They may then ask: "how's that sir"?....My reply: not even close.

Have been a customer for about 6 years now thought it about time I gave them a review after the conversation I had with the lovely hairdresser that cut my hair today. I always get a great haircut, these guys keep the prices low low low it's no frills, no wait, no drama! You will be back at work in about 10 mins with a great haircut. This place can be very busy and buzzing but every one of the stylists always make you feel welcome even when it's packed with people. If you are looking for a salon with all the $$$$ expensive luxuries of coffee, tea, iced water, scalp massage, hair treatment and blow dry and a long chat you need to go to another salon.. because this is a good old fashion MENS barber shop where you can WALK IN with no appointment and be well taken care of for a great price! Highly recommend!!!!

So I have been a long time customer. The prices cannot be beaten. The no appointment allows you to be in and out briefly.

One woman, whom I beleive possibly manages the hairdresser/barber enterprise. Has always had an issue with me. I do not know how I have offended, nothing is stated openly but body language and the answering of questions or genuine attempts at conversation are responded to quite gruffly, with often no interest or one or two words.

Other staff laugh and have great communication skills. Revelling in the stories thy have transpired during my last visit . Sharing their family jokes just very pleasant all the time.

I’m at a loss. I beleive I will now visit another salon where yes I may pay six dollars more . Yet be treated with a smile and genuine interest in how their life and mine bodes.

1.Quality work = consistently good.

2.Service=below poor as a result of the employee

3.
Value= amazing cannot bet.

Beleive someone needs to address this. Certain the owner would be interested, about said conduct and attitude

Interesting Post SIr,
You go on a public review site ( actually 2 sites ) and basically slander a good business because as far as your post states you are disgruntled that the person cutting your hair doesn't want to have a chat with you and share personal details about your and their lives? Well that is not for you to judge!!! How do you know what is going on in peoples business? Perhaps a recent diagnosis of cancer? Perhaps a suicidal relative? Maybe the client before you had terrible body odor and the hairdresser is still trying to recover from that? Maybe you Sir have the body odor?
Have you ever worked a day in your life in customer service? Do you know that these people work 9 hours a day and put up with so much from each customer but still manage to turn out good quality work and be polite day in day out?
Sounds like you have deep seated insecurities? If you are a long term good client as you mentioned you would have some sort of rapport in the baber shop... did you ask Hey are you ok? OR maybe wait for one of the other stylists if you think this person isn't up for a chat. No I think not!!! ....from your post its ALL ABOUT YOU and probably always is. GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!

Pros; first . Cons longer so secondSo I have been a long time customer. The prices cannot be beaten. The no appointment allows you to be in and out briefly. Which is a blessing. They cater for infants , through pensioners . Men women , socio economics does not come into it as they offer amazing prices with the welfare cards I have seen seen there.

One woman, whom I beleive possibly manages the hairdresser/barber enterprise. Has always had an issue with myself and other patrons just through talking to them. OH SO YOU HAVE BEEN THERE ALL DAY EVERY DAY AND KNOW THIS PERSON HAS ISSUES WITH EVERY SINGLE CLIENT IN THE SHOP!!! I THINK NOT!!

I do not know how I have offended, DID YOU ASK?????? nothing is stated openly but body language and the answering of questions or genuine attempts at conversation are responded to quite gruffly, with often no interest in small talk, which to some extent I comprehend. However how was Christmas? How was weekend. Just so deplorably negative HOW IS NOT ASKING ABOUT CHRISTMAS NEGATIVE????

Other staff laugh and have great communication skills. Revelling in the stories thy have transpired during my last visit with them individually . Sharing their family jokes just very pleasant all the time.

Im at a loss. I beleive I will now visit another salon where yes I may pay six dollars more . Yet be treated with a smile and genuine interest in how their life and mine bodes. YES !!! TAKE YOUR BAD REVIEWS ELSEWHERE SIR

In my opinion the lady who cut my hair couldn't see well enough to cut my hair didn't listen to what I wanted. I asked for short back and sides and ended up having patchy virtually non existent sides tappering up to a muffin top. I told her to just shave it as she ruined it and it is now to short to do anything with, she argued that she could make it look better, I again asked her to just shave it so I could get back to work, she insisted on trying to fix it, after 5 more mins I insisted she shave it as the half she was working on doesn't look any better (she got a little mad at this), she finally shaved it and missed a section on the top of my head to which she said "that patch is just darker hair" the hairs were upto 10mm longer than the rest, once she finally fixed that bit I left without paying. Once I got in the car I could see that there was what I thought to be loose hair on my ear, I tried to brush it away with my hand as I was taking off, once I got back to work I noticed it was still there so I tried to remove it again to find that I still have 20mm long hairs all behind my ears.

I will never be back to that store again!

no not blind at all...just led in the wrong direction..
when I asked..." how would you like it cut..?"

I was totally mislead by Grants opening interpretation of his usual haircut.
I asked how he wanted it done.
He said short on the sides tapering done to NOTHING....
Now, this is not short back and sides to us, this is the style all the young guys are having now..
we call it a fade.
I also commented that it must have been a while since he had that style, as his hair was quite 'fluffy" ..OR BOOFY.... it didn't look like he would have had the haircut he asked for...
he said..its been quite a while..
so okay then..( thinks I)
So from the temples down, I used a 3 then a 2 then a 1
I didn't even get to zero..which is a nothing.
He looked at it and said..you're doing it too short...
again i said..but you asked for it to taper down to nothing...which means down to a zero.
I showed him o a modern picture of what we do with short down to nothing(zero)
he said no..thats not what I want.
I apologised and said..sorry , I misread your request..
and added that I WOULD NOT CHARGE HIM..he did not just leave without paying for it..
he said..Shave it off!!
I said, not a zero allover..surely??
he said Shave it of !!
i then said..let me at least finish cutting it and see the finished result before shaving it off.. I started to do the top..got half done on one side , and kept trying to show him how it would look eventually, and told him when it was all done it would look fine..
He said ...shave it all off!!
so I suggested to a one..not a zero,( as it would not have suited his shaped head..)
he said ok,

by this time I thought he was going to punch me..
he was not an easy person to work on..
I WAS NERVOUS in the end, so not surprised that I MAY have left a long hair behind his ear..
I just wanted him out of my chair by this stage..
I am so sorry he misinterpreted his haircut style to me..
we can only go by the original instruction
too late to change once its off.

I have OWNED this salon for 30 yrs & he was the first..in all honesty whreby this type of thing has happened to me...

Woodog I said tapering down to nothing at the bottom, you uesd a number 1 full width above my ear while still missing the hair behind my ear, I even pointed to the bits infront of my ear when I said where to taper it to but you obviously didn't listen.

If you thought what I asked for wasn't what you call it at your shop then you should of made sure of what I wanted before you started cutting, I wanted a short back and sides style cut fading out at the very bottom, like I asked for the you just heard fade and went with that.

You tried to tell that the patch of longer hairs on the top of my head was just a dark patch until you ran the clippers back over it. I forgot to mention in my reveiw that you also missed my wispy back of neck hair.

You offered to do it for free because you stuffed it up and as soon as those words came out of your mouth, your care factor about my hair went to zero. I ended up just paying another salon to fix it rather than waste my time and energy coming back.

There are a number of cutters at Male Mane, and despite the name, they don't only do male haircuts, but women's too! And their seniors rates are very good.
