Never been to a Turkish restaurant before but really loved this place! They explained some of the dishes to me clearly and helped me choose what to have. Really nice authentic feel and friendly atmosphere. I will be back!

Went here last week,loved it!the place is so cool with lots of Turkish/middle eastern decorations,the staff are mostly Turkish so the whole place has an authentic feel.the food was really nice,,expensive but it was good quality and came fast.

SERVICE GOOD, ATMOSHERIC AS YOU SIT OUTSIDE ON THE ESPLANADE WATCHING LIFE GO BY.

We decided to try this newly opened turkish restaurant for lunch, as their advertised special sounded great, Burramundi with Prawns or Calamari, salad and turkish rice.
After a 20 minute wait and failed attempts to flag a waiter down for water, we were wondering where our food was- they weren't busy, so there shouldn't be a hold up!
The food finally arrived, and on sight you could tell the fish was way overcooked. It looked and was very greasy, the calamari that I had asked for grilled was deep fried, my husbands prawns were chalky (overcooked) and the 'turkish rice' was dried out white rice.
We called over staff and asked if this was how the food was supposed to be, and also asked why the Calamari was not cooked as ordered. He insisted that everything was right....Well we decided then that we would leave. Which we did- oh and we did not pay for uneaten meals either! I would not recommend.

New turkish restaurant in cairns called MADO
We went this friday as a group of 10 . we were lucky that we made a booking as it was fully packed and they had to refuse people away as they had no seats left . their food is beautifull ,different ,tasty . well presented. well portioned and worth the value of money . we enjoyed our night as their was belly danser dancing , and we enjoying the beautifull decor , live music, exellent food and very nice service ,,highly rcomended and we cant wait to come back as we are locals and we will spread the word around ,,cairns needed this ,,we wish them good luck with their business.
