Having travelled throughout Asia multiple time & having family live there i am known in my family for finding the good places in Melbourne for chinese food. Well i was lucky enough to find a local where i can eat in or get takeaway. The dim sims are fantastic, they are very tasty and seem to be made in store. Spring rolls are great too. The mains are a good serving size and very tasty every single time i go back there which gets extra points in my books knowing you won't be disappointed with the food... EVER.
Try them out, you will thank me..

Personally I feel you can tell a lot about a Chinese restaurant by the quality of their fried rice and Dim Sims. Loi excels with both these items, everything else on the menu is pretty much perfect too. The dim sims are spectacular and as someone else here pointed out, better than south melbourne market ones.

Approximate cost: $12

Event though this restaurant is not the fanciest in town it has the best chinese food for miles. my family has eaten here for over 25 years since i was a little girl and we spend every birthday etc there. always a great feed, at a great price.

When I read on here about the spring rolls I didn't realise how big they actually were! They fill up an entire small brown bag (the ones you get with dim sims in them etc).. They're about the size of a large hot dog! If you're eating for two, definitely get one and share it. Takeaway there was fast and good, they package everything separately so you can add the sauce etc when you get home so everything doesn't go soggy. Wasn't the best Chinese I've ever had but it was still good for the quantity and price. Definitely going there again.

Approximate cost: $15

Beautiful....It has been a long time since my partner and I had a good Chinese meal.
Good quality ingredients, lovely flavors and the spring rolls are unbelievable only one we've ever had to use two hands to eat!! Massive bag of free prawnies as well.

Quite simply the BEST Dim Sims you will ever find in Melbourne. Forget the South Melbourne market, these Dim Sims are 10 times better. It has excellent main meals at really good prices, the dining area is very basic but the meals are make up for it. Don't go past the Large Spring Rolls either, they are a meal on there own.
