I believe this pub has been run down by the local owners. It used to be a very good pub to visit, dragging in locals from many different towns for a great chat and a friendly beer. It was so busy that you couldn't even walk around. It is definately not that type of pub anymore. The owners are over the top, loud and they interrupt you. It feels as though you are entering the family home rather than a local pub as there is arguing and yelling from room to room. The food can sometimes be cooked well but you can often get a terrible meal. I have personally had food poisoning a few times from uncooked chicken (actually frozen on the inside and burnt on the outside) and also for other reasons. We no longer eat here or go to this pub as it is nearly always a horrible experience. The pub is very untidy and not very clean. I do have to say the beer is always cold. People that stop in now are normally passers by that grab a quick traveller or an occasional hand-full of locals.
