Had a kitchen started on 16th Jan 20102...15 weeks so far and still not completed, all the doors ,9 out of 11 were chipped ,poor workmanship and just damaged, wrong sizes!...it has taken 7 resprays of the doors and 7 times to keep coming back .This time 27/4/2012 was to be the last of the doors but guess what ? damaged door again, so now it will be 8 times to respray! So now we will probably go int 16, 17 or even 18 weeks down the track. Not once have any one from Kitchenworks been out to inspect. Also in the process there measurements were wrong and they damaged our timber floor and the people they got to try to fix it turn up with no tools and asked myself how to do it.Not once have they even had the decency to show any remorse and we stress that anyone using these people with have nothing but stress. Also you have to pay up front before any installation begins, so they have had our money sitting in their bank for 16 weeks now and our kitchen is not finished. Very poor service and workmanship. There trades are substandard as well, not very professional.

Approximate cost: $18,000.00

Have you checked what your legal rights are with the Dept of Fair Trading? I'm currently doing research for having our kitchen reno done and I've been told that you should not have to pay more than 10% deposit before work starts (which would mean that the balance would be payable when the job is completed, or possibly some of the balance would be paid for the materials and the rest would be payable upon completion, depending upon the contract) Having to pay the entire amount upfront would ring some serious alarm bells for me. If I were you, I would definitely contact Fair Trading to find out what your options are, especially if they are giving you the run around.

Yes , thankyou for that I have contacted the Fair Trading and I was very sill y but as the Kitchen place put it , was that on delivery of cabinets the final payment was to be made, as they sub contracted the making of the cabinets out.....it is there attitude towards us now.... a lesson hard earned ...thankyou for your comment
