Went to emergency today the staff from start to finish were amazing such a lovely experience and I was in a lot of pain!

The nurses are absolutely fab!
Except for one.
Thank you to the doctors that saved my life.

I used this hospital for my first and only pregnancy. the reception staff in the wait rooms were utterly rude - ignoring patients when they stood at the dest to book in. 5 - 10 minutes later no apology just told to do the wee test. the staff in the theatre were amazing though very friendly and helpful and caring. my little boy wasnt breathing at first so they worked on him for a while. got him breathing but the whole time reassuring me all was ok.
nurses in the ward ignored me most of the time as I didnt have my baby in my room with me. he was in special care.
the nurses seem to concentrate on mums that had babies in their room.
then on leaving when i discharged myself I asked for some insulin as it was late evening and I didnt have any at home and didnt have time to go to the chemist. they handed over a used insulin pen. i didnt notice until i went home and went to use it. luckily i didnt. wrote to them for an apology and to advice them of what happened and they accused me of wrong doing.
overall some good experiences and some bad.

I just delivered my baby in KEMH 2 weeks ago . because I am type 1 diabetes, I went to KEMH diabetes service for pregnant women for the whole pregnancy. I have to say that the midwives and obs there are fantastic, but the physicians??? the physician I saw is really a nightmare!!!
The physician I saw is very rude to patients and often misread or misunderstand patients' test results and blood sugar levels. The worst is she is very likely to overdose the patients. So if anyone is given instructions by the physician I saw, pls be careful and ask for some advice from other physicians before you take any action.
As mums-to-be with diabetes, we need more strength and courage for the whole pregnancy. We have to spend more time and pay more attention to our blood sugar control and many other issues involved with the diabetes. However, I believe that after 1 meeting with the physician I saw, even a healthy pregnant woman would fall in depression.
Even though the midwives and obs are nice there, I am doubt I will go to this KEMH diabetes service for my next pregnancy. The last 9 month experience really terrified me, and I will prefer a private hospital with my own ob and a private physician to help me next time.
So Pls be careful with the physician I saw and wish you good luck to meet as more as possible the other physicians in KEMH on your appointments.

I have had my last 2 children here and I now attend regularly to see the Psychological Medicine department! They are so accommodating and friendly! They make me and have made me in the past, feel important, special and not just like a number! The staff obviously want to be there working and enjoy it! I would recommend anyone to go here!

Today i went for my hospital checkup. The midwife and my doctor is very friendly and caring towards me. i feel very much happy whenever i attend the hospital. today i was given a book called the nappy Bag book and some information handouts from the midwife. i was very happy as i did not expect this book which is packed full of baby info. i missed the very last class in my antenatal class as my husband was ill. I even got to watch the video while waiting in the waiting room to be seen by the doctor.
