This place has a chilled out beer garden. If there were any more people the place might start to feel uncomfortable.

We went to the rooftop terrace garden. Fantastic ambience. Complete with astro turf, wrought iron furniture, cushioned benches, preppy waiters and a good value drinks list (wine, cocktails, beers/ciders and cocktail jugs)
It is kind of a like a cross between Madame Brussels and the classic serious, quintessentially grown up Jimmy Watsons downstairs, but a little more light hearted.
Perfect for the youthful or simply young at heart!

Consistently great food, wine and service. Very reasonable prices too. Have been coming here for years and never been disappointed. The restaurant is stylish and the staff always friendly and attentive. Technically a wine bar, so the wine list provides an excellent range. I have never had bad wine or food here. Prices compare favourably to pub prices but the quality is so much better.

This place is an institution in Melbourne and deservedly so.

Very friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Good variety of food on the menu and the pizzas are delicious. They have a vast wine selection, if you're a wine buff.

Jimmy Watson's is a Melbourne institution and a fabulous place to hang out. In my poor student days we used to order a bottle of dry and dry for $7 and drink it in the courtyard out the back. Nowadays I would go there for the fab cheeses/antipasto and wine selection and the brilliantly cooked food.

On numerous visits, both to the bar and to eat, I have found the service excellent. There is a wide range of wines to choose from, and the knowledgeable staff are very helpful to the uncertain. The food is excellent and the prices wuite reasonable.
