A lovely italian bistro located in Camberwell Junction.
The interior is very true to the style of a european bistro, striking the right balance between achieving a cosy atmosphere (without being too small) and a lofty airiness.
The service is attentive, friendly and charming. Personable and professional at the same time.
Equally, the menu was well compiled. Too often italian restaurants offer very little aside from risottos, pastas and mains.
It was a hot day and our table didn't really feel like any of the above - thankfully there were other options.
We ordered a Cured Salmon Salad ($18) and Seafood Brodetto, followed by a selection of the gelati/sorbet.
There is a set menu which offers excellent value at $35 for choice of two courses + a glass of wine
The salad was perfect - lovely fresh salmon, crunchy fennel, wedges of soft boiled eggs ... the ideal light lunch. A generous serve for $18, it was also creative and refreshing.
The seafood brodetto was nicely executed. With the quality & freshness of the seafood apparent (mussels, blue eye fillet, prawns).
Dessert finished off the meal nicely, with a nice selection of interesting sorbet/gelati flavours that stood out from the standard lemon, berry or chocolate.
A great local restaurant.

Have been here a number of times. The food is always good and with the entertainment card the price isn't too bad. However, the service is very variable. Sometimes you get another waiter who sees you are obviously waiting and steps in to assist. Otherwise you would be waiting all night. Dessert is I've priced even with the discount.

Approximate cost: $35-50

Have been there a few times and the food has always been very good, to the standard you would expect of fine dining. Although a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area it is good value considering the quality of food, you have the table for the evening and don't get rushed for turn over. We pick our night depending upon who is the shift manager as this is the key for the best service, a well organised and experienced shift manager is essential to ensure the highest quality service.

Approximate cost: $30-40

I've been to Italy 1 quite a few times and the meals have been fine and as expected. Maybe pricing doesnt seem so bad ( see comments below) because its in the Entertainment book so there a 25% discount. Typical dark woody sort of decor and European atmosphere.

Approximate cost: $35

Went here on a Sunday night for my birthday dinner. We booked a table for 6.30pm and when we arrived we were the first people in the restaurant. The waitresses checked the list and found our names (there was only 4 other names on the list for the whole night) but then couldn't seem to find a table for us to sit at (the whole restaurant was empty). It was a good 5 mins before they bothered to show us to a table. the next group of guests who arrived were also given the same treatment. I ordered the soup of the day which was a minestrone. It was very thin and quite oily. My husband had the calamari entree which he loved. For the mains I had the marinara linguine which was probably the best pasta dish I've ever had. The seafood was very fresh and there was plenty of it. My husband ordered the chefs special which was a seafood risotto which was very disappointing as there did not seem to be much seafood in it at all. Overall we had mixed feelings about the night. Hlf of the meals were great the other half very average. Wait staff were very inexperienced.

Approximate cost: $30-40

Have dined here quite a few times and enjoyed it but the last time we went was very disappointing- I ordered the eye fillet which consisted of 2 thin slices of meat with a couple of miniature baby carrots and a teaspoon sized piece of beetroot (described on the menu as "seasonal vegetables") Despite having to send the meat back as it was underdone, we received no apology, and even though I am not a big eater I was still hungry after the "meal". And the cost of this feast? $42! There are too many good value restaurants around for me to ever go back there!

Service was very good, but prices were astronomical for the size and quality of the meal. Friends had duck, husband had fish. Quality was good, but nothing special.

I was actually disappointed with my veal. The menu description looked delicious. It turned out to be nothing more than a veal schnitzel over a couple of slices of eggplant, all for more than $30.00.

Hubby and I split a torta di limone for dessert. It was $14.00 for a piece of lemon pie and a small scoop of sorbet that would have cost $7.00 anywhere else in Melbourne.

Approximate cost: $24.50 - $37.00
