Booked for 5 for a pre theatre dinner. We told the staff when we were due at the theatre and we were served pretty fast. That was after we tracked down a waitress because ours disappeared. All our food was delicious, sausage, schnitzel, pork belly and pork loin. Next time we won't be in a hurry and enjoy the atmosphere.

I LOVE THIS PLACE, it's so much fun. Go for your birthday or any special occassion on a friday or sat night at the 8o'clock sitting and join in on the festivites of life. have a 1litre beer just for the heck of it and OMG THE PRETZELS are mouth watering. as well as the pork knuckle. PREPARE FOR FATNESS THOUGH delicious fatness

Nothing like the real thing. terrible food at very high prices and small servings. There are other better German restaurants in Melbourne. This place cheats the unassuming tourist. I am a local and this place has the be one of the worst places I have eaten at. I had a pork meal and the skin was tough and meat dry and very salty with little taste. The red cabbage that came with the meal tasted like something out of a supermarket tin can. The food wasn't even fresh either.

After reading some good reviews and also hearing about their Oktoberfest celebrations, decided to give it a visit. The place is very loud and crowded and messy. The food is very nice but quite overpriced and the service is very poor. Also there were no Oktoberfest celebrations despite their current adverts.

We went as a family to Hofbrauhaus last year for their Octoberfest celebrations. We booked a few weeks in advanced so had a good seat near the front of the hall to watch the dancing and singing. All the waiters wear traditional German outfits which is a nice touch. The beers are good value and I enjoyed the fruity ones. The food is a good size and will fill you up. My favourite dish was the apple strudel for dessert. Come here for a birthday celebration and you will have a fun night.

Authentic german drinking hall in the centre of Melbourne. Well, as authentic as you can expect to get. Proper litre steins, all the staff in traditional german costume, bench seating and german drinking songs playing in the background, ah takes me back. Prost!

Great atmosphere with generous food serves all tasty and hearty meals (we loved the Kasespatzel and Wurstplatte) also great place for impressive beer and schnapps. The live band and German dancing is great fun too.

Love this place, its every bit the Hofbrauhaus as it is in Germany. All the staff dress up and the beers can be those 1 litre steins if you want and all the german drinking classics playing in the background. Great menu and it brings me back to Oktoberfest in germany all over again, be sure to head there around late Sep and early Oct for the true party atmosphere.

We went here last night for a birthday dinner. The service was good, not exceptional, they were friendly, but a bit hard to get their attention at times. The food was fantastic, although I felt the drinks prices were way to over the top. $4.50 for a glass of soft drink. It seemed excessive. Apart from that, it was really good and I look forward to going back again soon
