Great rescue! Everyone is so lovely and what they do is beyond amazing. Megan has been so great to deal with and very knowledgeable.

My experience with this shelter has been very mediocre. I applied to adopt a kitten from this rescue and was approved, however communication from the shelter was very slow and blunt. The adoption fee ($300) was very high in comparison to other shelters (which is fine), but this was supposed to include them being fully desexed, vaccinated, and their microchip transfer fee. Annoyingly, paperwork was very slow so I was not given their proper vaccination records (turns out they were not yet fully vaccinated - they were still due for their next booster as soon as we got them which was not conveyed at all). We had to cover the microchip transfer fee ourselves - despite being told the adoption fee would include this. We've also been given 0 information about their history from the shelter so we did not know their background, their DOB or anything. There were no tips provided, no check ins - nothing of the sort.
It's our first time adopting a kitten so we were worried whether or not they would be suitable for us. When I asked about the 2 week trial period, Megan was very curt and rude about it, telling me there were lots of people waiting in line for this kitten if I didn't want them.
The kitten has been perfectly lovely and so has their foster carer. I appreciate the work this shelter is doing but the service could have been a lot better.

I applied to adopt a 4 month old kitten from this rescue and was approved, I jumped through all the hoops that were required of me and had to deal with Megan (Founder) who was extremely rude, she has absolutely no interpersonal skills whatsoever, she doesn't reply to her emails either and spoke to me in a rude and demeaning manner, she called me after her foster carer Brooke related something that I had said to her but failed to include exact details of what I ACTUALLY said, resulting in Megan giving me the third degree on the phone and treating me like some moron who had no clue about how to look after cats,
I have had cats all my life and they have all lived to a ripe old age of between 15 and 20 yrs and have been well loved and taken care of, she is not professional at all, it took her over a week to reply to my email regarding paperwork, microchip no: etcetera which she refused to give me until after a 2-week trial, 2 weeks is nowhere near long enough when you are introducing a new cat to your other furbabies, her excuse was she had personal problems, sorry but that doesn't come into it when you're running a business (so to speak) hand the responsibility over to someone who can take care of it in the meantime,
she was pushy about making payment of the adoption fee before I had even had a meet and which I refused to do which seemed to annoy her, once I had the meet and greet I organised on the spot a day and time to pick up the kitten, my daughter was coming with me so she had to organise her time around it as well, on the very day, 10 days after the meet and greet, adoption fee paid and only 3 hours before I was supposed to pick the kitten up, I was sent a text message, not given a phone call but a text message, telling me that the adoption was cancelled because the kitten's sibling who had been adopted out already was not coping without her brother and after discussion with their so-called "cat Whisperer" lol, they were taking her back and had decided that the kitten I was adopting should be adopted out with his sister instead, did this not occur to them when deciding how these kittens should be adopted out and whether they should be adopted together or not ?
As it turned out she finally admitted that that was a lie,
She has since taken screenshots of my email to her via personal email and posted them on her Facebook page where upon I was attacked by her followers, not at all professional or mature,
all in all this whole situation was a totally negative upsetting and very stressful experience,
I would NEVER recommend this rescue to anyone and seriously Megan.. go get yourself some interpersonal skills if you think its ok to speak to someone in a rude, demeaning and
a--hole manner all the while boasting that your the best rescue in Melbourne above all others !
