I walked in expecting some decent food, maybe a bit of hospitality but instead i got the most delicious food with the perfect balance of spices! the owners came and greeted us and were extremely polite! an excellent place to go for delicious cuisine and excellent hosts. cheers.

My friend referred me to this place about 2 years ago and I have been there on many occasions. This is a great family owned restaurant and they are always checking if you would like anything else. The quality is amazing and the prices are great.

Discovered this Gem online and had to give it a try. The food is beautiful fine dining and definitely worth a visit. I believe the head chef was once the head chef at the melbourne oyster bar. Never mind that because the food speaks for it self!

Located just off Burwood Highway, this small family run restaurant offers excellent service, scrumptious food and good value for money. The Owner/Chef, Hock, takes great care to present his meals in a way that highlights the fresh ingredients without overpowering dishes in commercially made sauces. His steaks are superb, ask for a rare and that is exactly what you get – Chefs in Melbourne take note, a rare steak is pink!
Try the Barramundi in Moroccan spices, the skin is crispy and the flesh of the fish moist and well cooked. Hock's pastas are also a delight. Carbonara is the yard stick for me and unfortunately, I have tasted too many that are drowning in a cream sauce overloaded with parmesan cheese. The Carbonara here is light and tasty, fresh parmesan adorns your meal and the pasta is cooked al dente. Before you leave you must try the coffee, Hock is also a talented barista and HD Café is open for breakfast so you can kick start your day with a decent coffee. The locals are definitely keeping HD Café Bar & Grille a secret and this is one restaurant you would travel to if you're not in the Burwood area.

Went today for lunch, and as it's a weekday, they have a specialised Lunch Menu. We all ordered off the $10 page, which had options of a Lamb Souva, Chicken Souva, Chicken Foccacia, Steak Sandwich, BLT, Burger with the Lot, Fish Burger, and Quasedilla. All of these option are served with shoestring chips. The quality is definitely not reduced in-line with the prices, my Steak Sandwich was lovely, whilst my partner had the Burger, which was even better! As a weekday lunch option, only 5 mins from our office, this one is definitely a winner, and we'll be going back, regularly.

We've tried out HD's menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. The quality of the dishes is excellent, and the service is very friendly and prompt. The cafe/restaurant is tucked in with a small strip of shops just off Burwood Highway so it's easy to reach but off the main traffic route.
