Had a meal last night with work colleagues in the Brasserie at the Greenwood Hotel. There were 12 of us and the place was heaving! We were advised on arrival by Robbie, one of the wait staff to order promptly as an even larger group was due, trying to avoid delays for us. We all ordered separately and meals didn't take too long to come. A couple of drinks didn't arrive, Robbie was straight onto it, and brought them. All staff were, although very busy, running most of the time, really attentive, friendly and looking like they were loving their job. Nothing was too much trouble. Not a big eater, I often go for entree only when out and sometimes desert, if entrees are small. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Calamari entree, ($14.90) and it was excellent. Hot, crisp on outside, and not chewy. Said it came with some salad leaves. It was like a small salad, and was plenty. Shame I had no room for desert, as one guest had warm choc brownie with sauce and icecream which was unbelieveable. Will definately go again. All staff wonderful, Robbie really excelled!

I used to go to the greenwood ages ago, and loved it, so as it was my birthday and I hadn't been for a few years we decided we would have dinner there. Although the lamb was beautiful and tender, I had 2 slices, and I would say 30% was fat. The accompanying vegetables should have been labeled a garnish- I head 2 small spears of brocollini, 3 of the tiniest baby carrots I have ever seen and 1 potato cut up and roasted!!!!!all for $31.80!! I left wanting to go to the pizza place round the corner as I was still hungry!! It had a lovely flavour and was cooked well - just not very much of it!! The greenwood used to be the place you'd go for a decent feed - but not any more. I don't think I shall be back, which is a shame. The singer had a lovely voice but it was too loud and we couldn't hear each other talk.

Approximate cost: $31.80

I was invited to share my birthday with a complimentary meal and bottle of wine (white, red or sparkling) with my family. The service was courteous and excellent with no request too much for the attentive staff. The meals were exceptionally well (as in just to our liking, not over-cooked!) cooked and presented. We all enjoyed the atmosphere and recommend the Greenwood Hotel for a great dinner out.

I go there a couple of times a years for my birthday lunch which gives me a deal one meal free. The meals are adequate and the staff pleasant. The noise is one thing that turns me off and until the no smoking rules came in smoke drifted across from the bar. To be fair it s pub food and for the discounted price is reasonable value.

Great family Pub/Restaurant awesome meals at a great price pub dinning with class and on the weekends you can enjoy some live music with your meal. Chef even let me in on his secret recipe for Holandaise sauce which I enjoyed with the Baramundie perfect meal.

The Greenwood has lost the plot big time. Used to be good food now it is very pricey, small servings and poorly cooked.
Last week will be the last time there after a group of us went there for a family birthday only to have second rate food served at expensive prices - $32 for a single lamb shank on a mash potato base - come on get real !!! Then they charge 50c for a small standard fare bought in bread roll - ok if it was baked in house or an artisan made one, but not for oe you can get from the cheap bin in a supermarket.

Approximate cost: $28 -40

I recently had lunch at the Greenwood Hotel with a friend and we had a really great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food is such great value for money. We enjoyed the Salt & Pepper Squid and a Caesar Salad and both dishes were very tasty. The dinner menu looks great and I'm looking forward to going their for dinner one evening to try the menu out.

After my most recent visit I noticed there is room for improvement...they need to manage the orders better and have table ordering. All our meals came out at different times, and as it gets quite busy and there isn't enough staff, you can end up waiting forever to order a drink. Then again - it is a pub, so can't expect 5 star service!

A well know tavern that has lost its shine. Service was rude and slow and a lot of young staff who had no manners or knowledge of what was happening. Had salt on brulee instead of sugar. Food isnt as good as it once was

Approximate cost: $20-30
