Very basic fish and chip shop at reasonable prices. Bit hit and miss with the potato cakes sometimes but on the whole a good chippie.

I've struggled to find good fish and chips in the Dandenong Ranges. I recently tried Green Forest F&C for the first time and I was suitably impressed. The wait was lengthy but it was a Friday night and they were extremely busy but they do have a lot of staff on deck so the wait is reduced. The quality of the fish and chips was excellent. The chips were the nicest I've ever eaten, and even when they went cold they stayed crisp. The fish was a little lacking in flavor but that's what I would anticipate in a F&C shop due to the fish being frozen. The only thing I wonder though is if their quality is consistent.

Excellent quality, fresh oil and the best chips anywhere. Very friendly and good value. This is my local and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When we got our order home we were short one flake, chips weren't good and the flake was so stiff you could plank on it! Used to be good but not anymore, we won't go back.

Pretty good fish and chips although not consistent - last week they were great and this week not so great. Very busy on a Friday night but have heaps of staff on to serve people quickly.

I drive past five fish and chip shops just to get to Green Forest, it is one of those rare places you always know you are going to get great food. The staff are meticulous regarding cleanliness and quality.
The burgers are fantastic, real bacon, fresh patty and salad, a perfectly cooked egg every time, there is no having to eat around the outside to get to the good stuff. Its a rare treat in a traditional fish and chip shop, and nothing is every greasy. Lovely efficient staff and even when it is doing a roaring trade you never have to wait long. Love it!!

Have been buying from Green Forest for years and years. In that time the quailty of the food has always been excellent. Staff a very friendly and never forget a face. Service is quick and they never get an order wrong! The shop is always clean and well presented.
Would never think of buying my fish and chips from anywhere else, even after I moved out of the local area, I still travel to Green Forest.

These would have to be the most consistently great fish and chips anywhere in the Eastern suburbs. We travel from Ferntree Gully to Upwey to get them at least once a week. Great range of fish, the chips are very nice and always the same (could be a bit longer) and the burgers are near perfect, that is if you order one with the lot, slightly runny egg and double cheese. And yes, they do mix a bit of fat with the oil, that's why it tastes so good! It's not meant to be some kind of organic health food store.
