My family actually got to experience spending the night at Sovreign Hill. It was fantastic! We had costumes to wear while we were on tours of the whole park. there were special performances and the meals they gave us were absolutely delicious!!
I definitely reccommend to anyone passing through =)

Went here as it was included in the price of our Sovereign Hill tickets. Has a great display of some impressive gold nuggets and all the history of the gold rushes. Some cool gold gifts to buy from the gift shop if you got the spare cash.

The Gold Museum Sovereign Hill is an informative and interesting part of Ballarat and the gold fields. The displays depict the hardships endured by the miners and prospectors in their search for a new beginning and/or wealth. The displays show the sizes and values of some of the famous and not so famous nuggets found, some of which were just recently. Some of the pictures, images and exhibits really enhance the cruel, stifling and harsh conditions the workers had to endure in search for the valuable yellow metal. You can also buy some goldy stuff and other memorabilia in the shop. Well worth a look if and when you are in Ballarat.
