staff and service is quite lacking, and by quite i mean a whole lot - i've never had any trouble asking for water refills before i had to basically wave them down for a new jug!

that aside the pad thai's are pretty decent and it's very good value and cheap, heaps of choices on the menu too

We received the worst possible service. We waited 45 minutes for without our meals being served, while the waitress who sat us down and the waiter who took our order walked up and down and looked at us 6-7 or more times and were very well aware we hadn't been served yet. They deserve a rating of minus 5 stars, because not only did they obviously have no intention of serving us, but wasted 45 minutes of our time for no reason.

A typical thai restaurant, doesn't look much BUT the food is excellent. A very big menu ( and by that I mean by the size of it not the content.) although there is plenty to pick from. Service is quick, and the serves are of a good size. And at a reasonable price.

Good currys and noodle dishes, very cheap, just don't expect the servers to make eye contact or come past once you have made your initial order-they avoid you like the plague! I'd recommend the massaman and the pad Thai as well as the spring rolls and samosas, all great, all cheap.

Great cheap feed in the middle of the city. It's BYO so helps save a bit more. A very large menu, so plenty to choose from, but I would recommend the Massaman Curry. May seem small downstairs but upstairs there is plenty of room for large groups, so this place it good for a large gathering or party. Friendly and prompt service.

Usually the food is excellent, but my last visit was a little disappointing. Service is always very good. A nice, casual place to eat when you are in a rush to get out and about on the town.

In Thai, 'Gin Khao' means 'to eat rice'. However, there is much more on the menu at Gin Khao than rice!
It is a comfortable thai bistro, where the atmosphere is casual and relaxed but comfortable with reasonably low noise levels - perfect for occasions where you want a casual bistro meal.
The menu is thai, and offers rice, noodles, fritters, skewers and salads.
I had the pad thai, and it came out hot, fresh, with great flavours, reasonable noodle/stirfry ratio, and generously served on a large plate for $16.
They have a nice authentic thai iced tea drink, made with evaporated milk.
Service is prompt, and location wise it is very central in the CBD, making it a good thai option for casual lunch hour meals with colleagues.

The food is good although you can get similar or better taste from other restaurants for a more competitive price. The papaya salad is worth trying.

I've been to this restaurant a total of 3 times. I must say the food and the service has been quite consistent. I would recommend the deep fried fish with chuchee sauce and the green curry isn't too bad either. I've heard of people who experienced horrific customer service there but personally, I never did and I found the staff to be quite helpful (even when I didn't speak a word of Thai to them). There are other places that offer more for money but if you don't mind spending a bit more than $10 then this place will offer you some quality Thai food.
