Until today, I was also a fan of Geo's in Somerville, and had made it my local Cafe for all of my meetings - both professional and casual. Unfortunately, the Manager of Geo's was extremely rude and un-professional towards my cousin and myself today, so we will not be going back again. After ordering two large lattes, my cousin and I sat down to enjoy our coffee and each other's company. My cousin's coffee was as nice as usual, but my coffee was unusually bitter to the taste. I would normally ignore this sort of thing and drink it anyway, but the coffee was so bitter, I just could not drink it. My cousin tasted the coffee and agreed that although her coffee was nice, mine was un-drinkable. I suggested I would add some more sugar, rather than taking it back in and embarrassing Geo's, but my cousin decided to go in and discreetly ask for a replacement for me. We left the coffee at our table, to ensure that the complaint was not noticed by other patrons. My cousin explained the situation and was told that a replacement would be brought out. However, the Manager stormed over to our table, with money in his hand, stating loudly "So, do you want your money back?" I explained very nicely to the Manager that I did not ask for my money back, and I just wanted a replacement coffee as mine was too bitter to drink. My cousin agreed that my coffee was bitter. We explained to the Manager that, as we have both worked in Cafes, we believe that my coffee was made after my cousin's, using the same coffee grinds, which would have been scolded by the time they were used for my coffee, causing the bitter taste. We explained that if they made another coffee for me, we were sure it would be fine. The Manager refused to replace my coffee, slammed my money on the table, and exclaimed twice that I should take my money and buy a coffee from McDonalds. I was left to sit without anything to drink, whilst my cousin drank her coffee. The whole experience ruined our nice catch-up, as well as our enjoyment of Geo's. We will not be going back there again, nor will our friends, family, or business associates, so Geo's has lost many regular customer's now, due to the Manager's attitude. We went to great efforts to make the complaint descreet, and did not deserve the disgusting treatment that we received.

This place is pretty new, with great food for really cheap prices but they don't skimp on quality. The service isn't personal, buts it pretyy big and usually pretty busy so I don't hold it against them

This has just opened up, and serves great coffee and food. They also seem to rent it out on weekends for private functions, cos its really thumping on a sat night and is a licenced bar.
