I have had three "computer" dramas which I have used Geek Lightning to fix. They have always been punctual, professional and have fixed my problems with ease all times. They are very personable and explain things in layman terms which is always appreciated from a computer novice. They have also saved me money by fixing my computer that I thought was dead. I would totally recommend them to anyone.

My laptop died after going for a tumble down some stairs. Very sad day :-( I contacted geek lightning and they took a look at it and confirmed it had gone to laptop heaven. They discussed my needs and gave me several options which was great, this included fixing the laptop, or setting me up with a second hand pc.

After looking at the options I decided I wanted a desktop PC so they transferred all the data they could get off my deceased laptop, and set up the pc exactly as I wanted. The first time I used my new PC after I picked it up, it was great, but then it froze up. I called geek lightning up and they came to check it out. The problem was something that had come loose probably due to it bumping round in the back of my car oops (I'm a good driver I promise hehehe). So he fixed it up and its been fantastic ever since.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They gave me a great, cheap second hand pc, and I am very very happy with it!

My mother in law put her computer in to be fixed. Problem was that she could send emails but wasnt receiving any, and could not access webpages using IE. When she got her computer back, it had been changed from Vista to an older version of windows, her mobile internet had been significantly used, the cd drive no longer worked, printer no longer worked or could be installed, and the original problem was not fixed. They had absolutely no right to change the operating system without her consent, nor would they have needed to use a significant amount of her internet gb allowance. Would never use this company again, and wouldnt not recommend to anyone.

As with all stories, there are always two sides. In defense of geeklightning, there were some serious issues with this person's mother-in-laws PC. The networking stack had become corrupted by a virus and the operating system has needed be re-installed. The client did not have the original disk and neither had she made a back-up of the OS. A free license of Windows XP Home was offered as good will and all the other issues mentioned were all rectified on a subsequent visit. Not sure about the internet usage, expect for downloading drivers and testing internet.

This post is somewhat unfair as we were more than happy to make good any outstanding issues.

Additionally, we spent another 1.5 hours at the client's home resolving the printer issue at no cost. This was done outside of the Geek Lightning ten (10) day warranty period, offered on PC services.
